Local smith...any smith who deals at all with 1911s can do it.
Emailed the Seller who has the .45 Lightweight Night Patrol and he confirmed that the barrel is not a ramped style...too bad because for $599 I probably would have purchased one...
Have had a bunch of Colt Commanders with aluminum frames and never a problem but a friend had an early Kimber CDP and .45 HPs really dinged up the feed ramp. They had it polished out and the frame hard chrome finished and end of problems.

Working on two projects... Some .38-44s and a FA .224-.32 The .38-44 is a Lyman 35893, the original 130 grain spire point gas-checked metal piercing bullet. Backed with 9.5 grains of SR4756 (no longer available) it is running 1340 fps from a 4" barrel S&W Heavy Duty and 1247 from a 2.5" Diamondback. 8.0 grains/1154/1230 8.5 grains/1153/1255 9.0 grains/1192/1307 9.5 grains/1247/1337 Next to work on some 357156 Lyman/Thompson bullets. Second is initial loads for a FA 97 .224-.32 fireforming cases...why I did this to myself I have no clue....

...one uses the word "patina" when selling something to get more money...
...one uses the word "rust" when buying something to knock down the price...

Sounds like a nice gun...have got several Combat Commanders in .38 Super and they are great shooters...
As to the 10mm...was a little disappointed in the velocity increase over a 5"...my Kimber Stainless Target II actually shoots the same speed as the PARA Elite LS Hunter... Generally however it seem depending on the load/bullet weight it is about 50 fps...but much softer shooting and a longer sight radius.

Early last year I bought a Kimber Lightweight Government in 9mm...5" ramped barrel. A SIG made $45.00 stainless barrel in .38 Super fitted perfectly as they both use the Nowlin/Wilson ramp cut. Has a stainless slide and matching Ceracoat frame.
Shot so great and the balance so nice at 32 oz. that when they came out with the Night Patrol with a black slide and green frame I bought one...$677 delivered....and then a second for $650 delivered. Super barrels were fitted to them also. None of them have the firing pin safety.
There is a dealer on GB now that had 8 left for $650.00...

Have had two Ford diesel F250s over the last 20 years. This past fall decided to get a second vehicle to become my primary driver and just keep the truck for going shooting, camping and towing. Since I already have a truck and am not into heavy off-roading any more wanted something with a little more comfort but a lot of room. Three of my friends had the Honda Ridgeline and after a couple of times in their vehicles did a lot of research on them... And that is what I ended up buying last December...a 2022 Sport Model. I looked at SUVs but with all of them the rear seats had to be folded down to get rifle cases in. The Ridgeline is basically a Honda Pilot with a bed. Super comfortable and quiet to ride in with not only a 5' bed but a HUGE underbed storage area. 280 hp...lots of pickup and 5000# towing capacity. Low tank of fuel with only stop and go city driving was 19.0 mpg. Average where I live 23-26. Last two straight highway tanks were 29 and 30. That is at the pump, not the meter which has been within .4 of the pump just about every tank. Put an ARE cap on about two months ago. Expensive but absolutely LOVE it. Tons of secure storage. A friend with a Pilot has a lot more interior noise than the Ridgeline coming from the cargo area. Three of my friends who have ridden with me who have small pickups/van plan on getting a Ridgeline next trade-in time... carbuzz.com/compare/honda-pilot-vs-honda-ridgeline#cars=i_85070-vs-i_85765Bob

Picked up a 4" stainless GP-100 about 20 years ago...it has one of the best DA trigger pulls I have ever used. If I only had one .357 left that would be it...
Also love the sights that can be easily changed out.
When the 10mm MC was announced on a Friday, Monday I ordered one and picked it up 10 days later... To me it would have been the perfect LE revolver. Mild to wild loadings in .40 S&W and 10mm, carry 4 clips of ammo in just two speedloader pouches and a tough as nails action.

I finally got to re-register about 20 minutes ago. I had an account there from just about the beginning of the Forums but hadn't used it in so long the site required a confirmation email that was sent to a server that no longer existed.. Then they wouldn't let anyone register with a gmail or yahoo address...
Well they just took my gmail address and I'm in...

Being a retired LEO and having kept up with my LEOSA qualifications is a GREAT comfort while traveling.
Hopefully one day the Supreme Court will declare Constitutional Carry the law of the land but at least there are now 24 States where one doesn't need permission from the government to protect oneself...

...if one was going to carry a SA for self-defense, Paul's Packer in .45 ACP could not be beat...
SMJ had one just like that earlier in the year and it was awful tempting...

After our earlier exchange I went and pulled the 4.25" .41 and .327 out of the safe...just a joy to hold let alone shoot...
The reason your .327 was more money was the options..round butt, cylinder flutes and black Micarta grip upgrade over the .45.......
Almost bought a matching .45 Colt/.45 ACP...but it was $3300...
