Spoke to a lovely person at Freedom Arms today, 12 month wait time on orders. I ordered a FA 97 December 16th, went into production in May. I should or First Stop my dealer have it in 3 weeks. So 9 months basically, I was told 6 to 9 back in December.
i might order two more 97s one in 327 federal and the other in 45, been watching for a 5,5 inch with octagon barrel in any caliber for months now, blew my chance when SMJ had three in the spring.

2 months ago the nice lady quoted me 12 months. I ordered one through First Stop then and Mark said he thought they had been getting them in 6 or 7 months so I figured sometime between the first of the year and end of June, probably the latter. Can't wait.

Got my 10” FA83 in 41 Mag (2 cylinders, OT screw, crown, black micartas, action) ordered in February, so hoping I have a great CHRISTmas present to play with in the snow.

Have been lucky enough to find the almost exact FA guns I have wanted online or in local shops without having to do a custom order....two new, ten used. Only one that was bought at a local shop was sent back to the factory for modification. It was a 6" 83 .41 Magnum that had already been round butted. Since I already had a square butt 6" the gun went back to the factory and had the barrel cut to 4.75" and still had $800 less into the gun than if I had bought the same gun online.
There are normally 90-120 new and used FA revolvers on GunsInternational.com...today there are only 28.

The only two I didn’t have were the 10” 41 mag, FA83 and a 10” 97 in .327, that’s why I ordered the 41. Prices were running high on used 83’s in 41, so it would be as much of more to get a long barrel (10” strictly hunting) so I just ordered it with all the bells on it, exactly the way I wanted it. I’ll finish this year out with the long barrel, scoped .454, and start with the little .41 next year.

What deposit did you have to put down? $500 was the deposit I gave to First Stop in December and in all other FA purchases prior. I would suspect it’s still the same.never ordered directly ordered from freedom arms, not even asked.

Bob I routinely check out gunbroker, guns international, and guns America and yes, volume of freedom arms are way down compared to six or even three months ago. Most of them have been around for a while, even SMJ did not list anything new for some time. I don’t like to over extend myself but I might jump on those FAs of interest when I see them available.

The only FA I am interested in is a long (9") barrel companion for my 353 6". If I get one then I have an excuse to go to Africa again to try it out. I'm sure the Missus will see that reasoning. She hated Africa after a bad experience in SA.

Sold a FA 97 6.5" .327 yesterday on GB...as far as I could find there were no other 97s in .327 available anywhere on the web for sale. The guy who ended up winning the bid said he had given up trying to find a FA and was about to buy a Ruger. It's LNIB and I was the original owner.
Current retail for the gun with special barrel length and 3# trigger is currently $2992..at one of the big FA dealers I figure they would be asking $2800 for a new one. He paid $2400 for the gun, $210 in tax and $44 shipping.
I'm happy, he's happy...win/win...

Was 99% there but I wanted what I really wanted, 4.25 inch fluted barrel, round grip frame, action job, express sight gold front bead. Placed the order with First Stop today. I thought about buying your gun and adding a scope on it but that project is reserved for a 17 hmr down the road

Have a 97/.327 4.25" round butt, black Micarta, 3# action job, trigger stop and fluted cylinder that SMJ had posted for two years..glad I bought when I did...
Also have a 12" TC that is scoped for a long range .32 and just bought a 97/.224-.32 7.5" octagon that will probably get a scope...that is why I sold the 6.5"...really accurate easy to shoot gun but just redundant...
Did you order an octagon barrel or fluted cylinder...
