You did very well...this is the first -4 I can remember seeing. When I read your title line I didn't even remember there was a -4.
As to the stocks...I don't recall seeing anything of that style until the 2000s.
Best place to ask is over on the S&W Forums...

....make sure you kiss them before you leave...or at least buy them a bottle of their favorite expensive adult beverage...Prices for any - 3" 66 starts about $1200 for a shooter grade with no box...$2k plus for LNIB...
I have a -2 which was the original Ashland limited edition.
Besides the extra 1/2" for sight radius over the nominal 2.5" is the fact that 3" guns have a full length ejector rod.
Don't ever let that one go...everyone I know who did regretted it later...

...if you had a .41 in the first place, you wouldn't need the other three.

My very first FA97 was a 327 Federal/32-20. I was hoping Freedom Arms would build me a 32-20 as a stand alone. But, that was a no go. Had to go with the 327 Federal (which I love) with the 32-20 as an auxiliary cylinder. ...have always wondered...since one is ordering a FA basically as a custom gun, why can't one just order any available caliber and barrel length without having to pay extra for it... How much could a couple extra roll stamps for the barrel be... ...or am I missing something... Bob

The Ken O'Neil sight that 2Dogs now markets gives an excellent sight picture...
I also like the 80* ramp that David Clements does. Have never had it drag on the holster or hinder the draw...

....Oooooo...that looks like it hurts...and yea...don't push it.
Glad you are enjoying the world of. 38 Super. Just added SIG made $50 barrels to three lightweight Kimber 9mms and they shoot great.
RIA does make a great gun for the money...it would be nice if they made a better grade model with an adjustable rear sight and dovetailed front like they do in their other calibers...
Get better soon...maybe see you in the spring...

Just had two .327 cylinders done and my next order will be for a couple of FA front sight blades. Why FA puts those ramps on is beyond me...to me they gray out making long range shooting difficult in many light conditions.

Starline .38 Super +P is the same case with a rim... Their .38 Super they should have marked .38 ACP...
That will be a Unique gun...

I have both and I would shoot both before you decide.
My two RB 97s are both 4.25". The SBs are all in the 5.5-7.5" range... The RBs take a lot more concentration to shoot well but could be just because the barrels are shorter.
Have both RB and SB 83s and the RB wins hands down...

Nice looking bullet...but to me they look more like a Keith style vs. a LFN
