I have no investment in this other than it seems like a good buy and I thought somebody on this site wood appreciate the gun. I talked to John and he said if someone bought it he would provide the info he has.

I am wondering how you know the base pin is stripped. As for the engraving tool buried in front of the trigger guard. That is stippling made for gripping with the fore finger to grip. The grips did not looked warped to me. No different than any other Ruger.

Hello
I need your guys expertise. What kind of value would a original 500 Linebaugh have that was built on the bisley frame and is numbered under 100? It has the 7.5 inch barrel and was made before John had his stencil made so it still reads 44mag on the side as well as the normal ruger stamping on the frame. Thanks for your help!

Hello
An update on the Vortex Razor Red Dot. After about 200 rounds the sight was not holding point of impact and the lens cracked. I called Vortex customer service and they sent me a label to return it. Larry at customer service said they have not had any issues with them. However, they have not had a lot of them mounted on a 500 S&W. He said they will fix it or replace it. It is like the Fastfires and Delta points I have owned, I do not know how I could trust it now. Just a heads up!

Thanks Guys!
Incidentally, the group was shot off the bench and the bullets was a 500gr Cast Performance @ 1200fps.
The base is the factory base. I cut it off. I also had to file open the cross slot as the Voretex mounting base is made to the picatanny specs which is a bit wider.

Hello The more I shoot this revolver the more I like it. I bought a Vortex Razor Red Dot to put on it to hunt with. I am very pleased with it so far. That is an eight inch pie plate. The 3MOA dot covers just a little less than half @b 100yds. I shot this group with it at 100yds and am very pleased. No way I could shoot like this with iron sights!

I was disappointed when the last shot went high! This five shot group was with a 500gr Hornady @ 1180fps. This gun really shoots! I have owned three Freedom Arms 454 and have sold them as they always busted my index finger knuckle. With this BFR I feel no discomfort of any kind when shooting.

Hello
Will their reflex sight handle the recoil of a BFR 500 S&W?
Also, any experience with the Deltapoint Reflex sight on the very heavy recoiling handguns?
Thanks Mark

My two Smiths would index (rotate) backwards so the next shot was on an empty (fired) chamber. Not real handy when in Alaska bear country!

Hello
I am thinking about getting a BFR 500S&W. I have had two Smiths and both had problems with auto indexing with heavy loads. Have any of you heard of any problems with the BFR 500 S&Ws?
Thanks Mark

Hello
I am looking for info and results. What is the max velocity for a 350gr Hornady bullet out of a 7.5 barrel bfr? Also, what is the max velocity of a 460gr Cast Performance bullet out of the 7.5 barrel?
Thanks Mark

This is what I bought. I added the fastfire II and the Hogue Tammer grips. I am very happy with the accuracy of this revolver. It handle the same loads as my two Freedom Arms 454 I've owned. My two Freedom Arms busted my index knuckle. My bfr 475 did not handle recoil for me as well as this Super Redhawk. I drew a mule deer tag for Colorado and I am going to use this for my deer season.
