Hello All,
I got the call last Friday my 83 converted to 500JRH is done! I will get it in hand tomorrow. I had him install an octagon barrel and use the best Turkish walnut blank for the grips he could find.
I was very surprised it was done so quick!! I sent it to him March 3rd and April 14th its done and on its way! I have always wanted a custom single action. I just never like the idea of the wait a lot of smiths are requiring. I am going to shoot it a few times then fire it off to the engraver.
Synd what are you doing Wensday?
Regards Mark

Paul
I see in a previous post you experienced a broken bolt spring. I assume that was with your FA83 500JRH. Have you had any other issues? What kind of accuracy are you getting?
Thanks for the info!
Mark

Thanks Guys!
It just seems a cheap alternative to a $1400.00 gun as it sold for new! Mr. Huntington has it now. I'll post pics in 8 to 10 weeks. I just ordered 200rds of brass from Buffalo Bore ammo.

Hello Have any you guys ever see a Freedom Arms Field grade with grey plastic grips? I called Freedom Arms and they said they only installed them on a few. I bought it as a project gun. I am sending it to Huntington this week. Regards Mark

Brother Snyd
It fantastic you got him with your 500 Linebaugh.
But I think the real impressive part is and nobody has commented on it is you snuck in on him!!! He was not a rut crazed bull that would come to anything that sounded somewhat like a cow in heat! You saw him bedded and put the sneak on him! That is not easy. Anybody who knows anything about moose knows their sense of smell and hearing are 2nd to none! Some say they have poor eye sight. I doubt how really bad it is! Mines worse!
Anyhow Snyd I think this is a tribute to how good a hunter you are!!! Congrats Again!!
GOD BLESS! Mark

Lee This is the 585 Nyati I owned. It was number two that SSK built. It utilized the same case head as the 460 weatherby. I bought bertarm basic 585 Nyati brass. I had a gunsmith make a lathe cutting tool to recut the heads. It worked great. I had no trouble with the brass and I could easily get 2400fps with the 750gr barnes and Woodleigh bullets. I personally would rather turn the heads of the cases than make the bolt rim too thin. Especially when you have access to your lathe and own tooling! I had 50 cases made up and reloaded 10 of then about 20 times and never did have a problem with the brass. Just a thought and opinion. Regards Mark
