Mark,
JT guns were built when MRI was independently owned. The change came about when they were purchased by Kahr Arms. It is still the same shop building the guns though, so in reality, there is no difference.

So if I read this right, JT is no longer being marked on the BFR but BRO is? I only have one BFR and its a JT gun, didn't know it changed.

Spoke with the Magnum Research product manager today and he said all revolvers with a JT or a DK prefix are Magnum Research-era guns (from 2000 to present).

Did you ask him about there early 500S&W heat-treat? I did and he said there was never any issue, however they have always heat treated those chambered in .500 S&W to a different standard than other models due to the astronomical pressures. Another interesting item is that is off-topic here but worth note, is that .500 JRHs they sell at standard retail and not Precision Center prices.

Somethings a miss on the 500S&W heat-treat, ether the tech that told me that and replaced my cylinder was wrong or they don't want to replace cylinders on a gun not shooting the corbon ammo, my guess is the later.
