Hello The more I shoot this revolver the more I like it. I bought a Vortex Razor Red Dot to put on it to hunt with. I am very pleased with it so far. That is an eight inch pie plate. The 3MOA dot covers just a little less than half @b 100yds. I shot this group with it at 100yds and am very pleased. No way I could shoot like this with iron sights!

nice shooting. Is that the weigand base, or did you cut the OEM base?

That's a really nice setup. Personally, I love the BFRs. I only have one of the extended frames, a 45-70.
Thanks for the ranges and Vortex sight report.

Thanks Guys!
Incidentally, the group was shot off the bench and the bullets was a 500gr Cast Performance @ 1200fps.
The base is the factory base. I cut it off. I also had to file open the cross slot as the Voretex mounting base is made to the picatanny specs which is a bit wider.

Hello
An update on the Vortex Razor Red Dot. After about 200 rounds the sight was not holding point of impact and the lens cracked. I called Vortex customer service and they sent me a label to return it. Larry at customer service said they have not had any issues with them. However, they have not had a lot of them mounted on a 500 S&W. He said they will fix it or replace it. It is like the Fastfires and Delta points I have owned, I do not know how I could trust it now. Just a heads up!
Regards Mark
