Congratulations, should be an enjoyable gun for you. Got mine back in 2003 an Acusport Exclusive in those days. Did have to ream the cylinder throats to 0.4525" as all I shoot is lead. Added Hougue Black Micarta grips as they fit my hands better than factory. Yep get your reloading components and get busy.

They are also on the 4 5/8" Supers as well as the original blued Vaquero.

Just received two today. I thought they looked good in the posted pictures, they look even better when you have them in hand. Had them thinned to 0.100", serrated and blued with screw, can't beat the price. Now I have work to do on guns tomorrow I believe these going on my 9 1/2" .32 H&R Magnum and my 5 1/2" 327 Federal Magnum. Hope I don't like these so well that I have order some for .22's.
Thanks Fermin

Little background first. Due to medical problems I have not fired a handgun since September of 2015 that was my new Ruger Bisley 6.5" .454 Casull. Will start with my .22's and work my way up to get up to speed.
I have found only one load for Longshot in the .454 by Brian Pearce and that is Cast Performance 325gr LFN PB 11.0 to 14.0 which I have and will use.
I have the following bullets that I can use: Plain Base 265 Keith - Drycreek 288 RCBS-270-SAA - Harles Dawson 310 Keith - Mt. Baldy
Gas Checked 260 LFNGC - Montana Bullet Works 265 WFNGC - Cast Performance 300 LFNGC - Cast Performance 320 LFNGC - Cast Performance 335 WLNGC - Cast Performance All bullets sized to .452 except 310 Keith which is .453.
All loading will use new Starline .454 brass and Remington 7 1/2 BR primers. (corrected brass used).
I have lots of books and subscribe to Loaddata.com not much for Longshot.
So if anyone has some info that they would be willing to share I would appreciate it. If you don't want to share your loads I understand. PM's welcomed.
The reason for so many different bullets is I have 12 heavy frame Rugers in .45 Colt so I have lots of "Ruger Only" loads developed with HS-6 and H-110.
Thanks, Dana

All I have to say is the first handgun my wife bought me was the large frame Vaquero blue 5 1/2 barrel. Bad choice on her part. I now have 12 Ruger single action .45 colts (five are convertibles) a Winchester Trapper and a Marlin 1894 all capable of the Ruger Only Loads. My favorite cartridge for sure.

What i did with two .45 Blackhawks was to buy new Hunter grip frames and fit them along with Super hammers. The Hunter uses the same grips as the Dragoon. Just an other option for you. Dana

Looks like you are all set for the BBQ. Gorgeous set up. I like that the gun and holster are both from Wyoming also.

My first press was the Pro-1000. It now sets in a box in my reloading room as I wanted to be able to use my 4 die sets. I had upside down primers, sideways primers gave up press loading of primers. Bought a used Loadmaster and a bunch of extras with it. First thing I did was remove the priming system, I prefer to inspect the case and install primers with a hand primer. It is set up with 8 turrets each with the Auto Drum measure on it. Does everything I need, quick to change turrets. I don't try to be fast when reloading, look in each case for proper powder level before seating bullets. For the money it's hard to beat. Mechanical knowledge may help in setting it up to run properly. Just my experience hope it helps.
