Basic Blackhawk 101 grip fame question

Does a NM SBH grip frame bolt right up to a NM BH with no mods or extra parts?

I can find pages of info talking about the different generations of grip frame but not if I can do a straight across swap. I guess I haven't had enough coffee yet.

They bolt up the same. There may be width issues or other minor fitting required.

But, they'll bolt up on a Single Six too.

The 5 screw hole pattern has stayed the same for decades. There have been a few differences in the grip angle,,, AND lately,, the "ears" at the top of the g/f's. The original g/f's have a pair of ears that slip into a slot of the main frame. On the latest g/f's,, that has been eliminated.

What i did with two .45 Blackhawks was to buy new Hunter grip frames and fit them along with Super hammers. The Hunter uses the same grips as the Dragoon. Just an other option for you.

How about swapping hammers? I picked up a Super hammer and it locks up. Bother new models

You can put Super hammers in Blackhawks. Same frame size. Won't work in the Single-Six sized frame.

I swapped out 2 SBH hammers a while back. Other than needing to polish some rough areas on the hammers, everything dropped right in and works perfectly.
