The 69s I've seen on tables or websites in Alaska have been under eight in either barrel length but the 4" seems more common.

Tri-color Ruger Bisleys might have to become a thing

I find it hard to believe that that ammo is illegal in Alaska but according to the seller's description, it is.

Not mine. This barrel length/front sight combination doesn't seem to get a lot of interest. This might be one of the least desirable features on an otherwise good revolver. Not good news for me since I picked up a blue one in this configuration a couple of years ago and left the 3.5" one there. That one was also $150 more but I probably still should have chosen it.

My son grew up and left before I realized I made too many hunting/camping/hiking/fishing memories with a friend who didn't really deserve it instead of him. It looks like you have time to spend with your boy and time to ground him in custom revolvers and other good things that boys should grow up with an appreciation for.

Not only is my small conversion 45 Colt Bisley not marked by Linebaugh, the side of the receiver still says 44 Magnum. I like it just the same, though. The side of the barrel does say 45 Colt.

I like the Savage combo guns. I had a 24C Camper model in 22 lr over 20 gauge with the shell compartment in the buttplate. I still have a 22 Magnum/410

Will HArton recut Colt markings into the mainframe? I have a Colt from 1881 but the dates and Colt markings have been polished off. The serial numbers all match though.

Didn't the Registered Magnums have REG as the prefix of the serial number?

Not long after the SP-101 first came out, I was reading in AH and maybe other sources about rechambering them from 38 Special to 357 Magnum. It worked then and there shouldn't be a problem with taking one from 32 H&R to 327

The 480 Ruger flattens the Hogue Tamers all the way to the steel grip and doesn't provide much by way of cushion. The 454 Casull Alaskan by comparison, is almost pleasant to shoot with those grips on.

Is that a New Model 357? If so, someone really did shoot it a lot to do that much wear to a bigger, bulkier revolver.

I learned something about the X frame Smith & Wessons this week. There are two different sizes of compensators, a shorter one that is flush with the end of the muzzle and a longer one that extends past. Your gun has the longer compensator which is intended for cast bullets, and the other is to be used with jacketed bullets.
