Do any of you guys own a Devil Dog Arms 1911? One in 10 mm has come up for sale at an attractive price, with a good amount of ammo included.

If I were you I'd buy one with the longer barrel already on it. The 4" and 4.2" 45 Colt Redhawks are kind of in demand, certainly more than the 7 1/2" ones.

Every time I see a Hi Point I think of the rifles from the movie Planet of the Apes.

It'd be easy to stamp a 7 onto the end of the 32. Could this one be rechambered to 327 Federal Magnum?

I'm surprised no one was willing to big $700 for that MagNaPort predator on gunbroker. The Predators and Stalkers were written up in the gun magazines back in the 80s.

I used to own Ruger Alaskans in both chamberings(I guess I don't see the point of a 44 Magnum Alaskan). I found a deal on a 454 first and noticed that the grip really helped to cushion the recoil. A year or two later I found a 480 and realized that I felt a lot of steel gripframe when shooting it, even though it had the same cushioned grip. I should have thought to switch the grips around on both of them to see if the 480 lacks some cushion but I didn't. The 454 went down the road a couple of years ago.

The rifle is beautiful but SPOKANE WN? I wonder why he didn't go with the standard abbreviation for Washington which is WA?

I think if he were to spend $$ on some Culina grips in a fancy grade of wood, so the stocks more closely matched the rest of the gun he'd sell it sooner and for more money.

If I'm getting only one it would be the 500 Linebaugh and that's mostly for bragging rights. No one else is going to pull out a standard sized revolver and show me a loaded round that is bigger than a loaded 500 Linebaugh cartridge. No one. The 475 Linebaugh is also impressive but the visual impression is less when next to the 500. Neither is particularly enjoyable to shoot, and both tend to eat up a lot of powder and lead in handloads.
If you're looking for a revolver that you will shoot and enjoy and hunt with the 45 Colt would be another good way to go. Some guys go even farther in the smaller caliber direction and get a Linebaugh gun chambered in 38-40. You have a lot of options available to you and really no wrong answers.

I looked at one of these last year and lamented that they didn't come available back during the 80s, because they would have made an ideal rimfire sidearm to take while hunting. I would buy one if it turned up locally at anywhere near this one's price.

My friend's dad had one of these early Smith & Wesson 44s with the 8 3/8" barrel. Back when I was young I thought I was buying accuracy via the long tube so I carried a stainless clunker around on my early outdoors adventures. I've thought about it many times and I should have realized Dirty Harry was just a movie, the Smith & Wesson wasn't the best 44 going and I should have gone practical instead of prideful. I could have had a 5 1/2" Redhawk that would have served me a lot better.

Nice 4" 686. You probably should've jumped on it but something else will be along shortly.

My friend claims he talked to a gunsmith at Freedom Arms who told him that Freedom Arms doesn't make their own frames, but that they're made by a reputable American company(Ruger?). What's the real story?
