"30SC Ammunition
A number of ammunition companies will be producing 30 Super Carry ammunition, including Federal, Remington, CCI, and Speer."
...except that is all the same company...
This looks like an interesting round/concept. It will recoil less than a 9mm with probably slightly more muzzleblast.
I already carry a Super (.38) so I don't think I'll be downgrading from a 31 ounce fully loaded, 10 round shoots where it points classic that runs a 90 grain bullet at 1560 fps, 100 grain bullet at 1530 fps and a 124 grain bullet at 1350 fps for 2-3 more rounds on board and a little less recoil...

Interesting little cartridge. Unlike the 32ACP don't think it is semi rimmed. Regardless of the case length I'd expect the cartridge overall length to be the same as the 9mm. Shield EZ, and Shield plus chambered for it. Expecting the new S&W CSX to show up chambered for it too..

I bet you're right, I would expect them to remove the rim.
I kind of want this, but I don't know if I will commit to a round that will (likely) be handload-only in a couple years.
I think it's a great idea, even if it's hard to justify. Or a fun idea. Should be a riot in a 1911. Would be hilarious doing mag-dumps out of a 2011!

No doubt, several here are already in the early planning stages of having an extra cylinder made & fitted to an existing revolver...🤔

Im ashamed of myself. If it would get Speer off their duffs and start making a 115gr Gold Dot again Id be extatic!

I can see zero advantage in a revolver. Pretty much zero in a defense gun.
For those who like auto loaders for small game hunting, maybe a good one.
When the 10mm and 40 S&W came out, the game was more stopping power. Now, they're trying to kill the 40 S&W off and sell 10mm Guns as hunting guns.
The new game is "more rounds." Switching back to pushing the 9mm and new rounds like this.
It's just my opinion that most people need to spend more time at the range.
All that being said, I like small game guns. Would be cool as all get out in the Ruger PC Carbine...

If I had a 32 Revolver right now, I'd probably not even consider a cylinder in this new round, as I expect there is no advantage over the 32 H&R in a revolver??? as far as capacity... it may be great in states that haven't pushed a 10 round capacity limit, unless they fit 10 into a thinner grip for smaller hands, if so, there may be niche there... in reading some of the "data" on the links, apparently I should strive "to hit one out of 5 shots fired" ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) sounds like the perfect gun for the night stand of someone who will never shoot it... not so much for me... I see this one going away very quickly, as most who would reload, are going to go for something more traditional if it gets Speer re-releasing the Gold Dot ( or I forget the new name for the same bullet ) I say go for it...

My guess is that in two years there is going be a small selection of used .30 Super Carry guns in the used rack for very cheap.
There’s simply no way this will be competitive with 9mm pistols. I’m all for new rounds, but…not this one. It’s maybe a slightly better concept than .45 GAP, and we all know how that turned out.
*edited to add that 30 Super Carry is a dumb name.

Probably going to cost less to produce and cost more on the shelves. Not sure who was asking for this? If’n you want a 30 cal autoloader, get a Luger or a Mauser or a Tokarev. Nope won’t gain any capacity, but sure are cooler. Saying that, I think they should of stretched the 25 and the 32 long ago and slip em into a target style pistol, preferably along the lines of the Ruger MK’s.

In a 32 H&R or 327 I wonder if a moon clip conversion would allow you to shoot the 30 SC also.
In the old days, self defense shootings mostly involved just a couple of shots, 1 or 2 attackers, a bunch of misses and everyone runs away in the end. Now you're seeing more people prep for the possibility of being stuck in a riot/protests and getting their car mobbed. For these situations people are looking for higher capacity options in the cab that help them clear a way to something with 30 rounds and extra magazines in the trunk.
