I had a fish and game officer tell me one time to discreetly use frozen paint balls in a paint ball gun to gaze deer out of my yard m. Stings, leaves to marks or damage and quiet.

The only double action gun I own is this 4 screw model 29 no dash. The cokes are in the parts box.

Nice job Kim! I was tempted to go out guys morning but with a 5:30 leave time in the morning I just knew I’d find a buck and be in a world if hurt getting him taken care of before I fly out. Dick’s bullets just seem to want to fly through critters. That is one of the main reason I sent a ton of my bullet casting molds and j fits to Dick. I’m better off buying from him than doing it myself!

We had a small Thanksgiving dinner earlier this week because family was coming down only the only day my brother had off. Sickness on their end made them cancel but we decided that since everything was ready to go we would still celebrate early. That gives us today to get ready to fly out tomorrow for VA where we get to spend a week nor so with our oldest son and his family including our 7 month old grandson!😄
It sounds like there will be another Thanksgiving dinner out there with them and two international families who are participating in the same fellowship programs the kids are in this year. I have been warned by my wife to be on my best behavior!
Since Remington does not have classes on Monday’s this term we hope to make the hour drive from Arlington to Rob Rowan’s shop to drop off some white grips and a steel OA grip frame gif him to do his magic on sometime in the future.
Getting to see family, a little grandson, meet folks from another part of the world and visit with Rob is truly something to be thankful for in my book! Have a blessed day folks!

I looked but did not find any AAA sponsored sales on Kobalt tools at Lowes.

Is that the factory butt pad on that rifle? I’ve never seen one before but that thing looks thick!

That cylinder pin is not installed all the way. That screw us the locking part that is screwed up into a recess in the barrel once the base pin is fully inserted. Just another example of poor sales prep and photography.

Doggone hide stretcher looks like one of those outdoor models!😄 No dirt on the jeans, clean hat and not a hair out of place! The only blood looks like some red makeup on that Buck’s nose! You sure that isn’t one of those tame Texas stunt bucks Mike hired for a photo op?😄
Nice job Mike, looks like you are right at home down there in The Lone Star state Chief!!!!

I went to the farm up the road and got the Model 7 .243 on paper but I did run into a slight snafu. The vast majority of my reloading is handguns and I totally forgot to adjust the rifle due just right and over crimped some of the rounds. The resulting “ring” at the base of the neck made some rounds tight so I get to test them back down, resize then reassemble. A screw up on my part but that’s nothing new.

A piece of shooting artwork. My dad shot a Model 21 right to a few months before he died. I always thought a nice side by side was just pure class.

Got some “get it on the paper” loads made up for the little .243 Model 7 my son bought from the estate so today it’s it sighted in with the new scope then try 3-4 different loads to see which it likes best before it goes out to him so his buddy can use it on their Sika deer hunt next month. This hunt is in the swamps of Maryland and the deer are not too big so he wanted to use the little .243 rather than the 7 mag. Luckily there were dies, brass and bullets in the stuff from the B-I-L so I could just buy it from my niece rather then having to go try and find stuff. I bought the youth Model 7 in 7mm-08 fir my kids to hunt with years ago and they all took their first deer and elk with that plain Jane birch stocked little rifle. This one is the nicer version with a nice walnut stock and is a sweet little gun and much better looking than his original version which he still uses.

Man Rey, I know hunting leases are what most guys deal with there in Texas but what you described as the specific “take list” and having to wait for a picture book of individual deer that may or may not be available required too much of an encyclopedic mind for this old guy to comprehend. It reminds me of trying to figure out the nuances of Colt collecting. I figured long ago I’m not sharp enough or young enough to understand the Colt world so I stick to plain Jane Rugers and USFA guns just like my deer hunting. A buck during buck season and a buck or doe during either sex season. Good luck on the hunts!
