Odin is more of a wordsmith than I am and he is correct that a dimple or recess would be a better description versus hole which sounds like it is breaching the integrity of the internal surface of the barrel better known as the bore😊 The first guy screw up around this bunch of jokers doesn’t stand a CHANCE! They’ll stomp ya, romp ya and tromp ya then reach down and pick you back up with a grin and call you brother.
Send me your address and I will see if I can not find a rear sight elevation screw for you. The locking base pin is okay as long as there is a recess in the bottom of the barrel for the pin to set in. Just tightening up the set screw will mar the barrel as it try’s jumping loose and if you tighten it too tight you can tweak the base pin to where it can affect it’s straightness and it can even impact how the gun cycles.
It is probably a great gun that shoots lights out and there are folks that will like the combo of the extended grip frame, SBH hammer and banded barrel but for me personally it doesn't ring the bell just like the BFR guns with the different hammers and "bisley" grip frame don't do anything for me aesthetically. All personal opinion but some combination of features work for me while others just don't. Insert shrugging emoji here.
Another great pictorial Lee. Thank you for taking the time to share all this with us. A guy can see pretty easily where the numbers on a custom 5 shot build come from when he looks at your time summary.
I don't see the logic in spending the money to have a gun built with features like a banded barrel and oversized fitted cylinders and leaving the stock rear sight. I guess some folks are not aware of a sight like Bowen's or a new rear sight is not part of the package that the builder offers. It just seems like there are a lot of nice guns with upgraded features that still wear the factory rear sight.
NOTE TO SELF - put the Bowen sight in the parts box on the avatar gun you idiot! Yep, there is a plank in my eye!
