After reading everyone’s input on this thread it seems that due to the witches brew of government regulations, corporate guidelines and the fact that the actual enforcement of the regulations are subject the the moon and tide phases affecting the individual regulator in any given situation on any given day it seems like each have to make our own decisions on how we handle the shipments.

When the 327 came out I bought an adjustable sight bisley 32 and sent but go John Gallagher for his first conversion to 327. Neat gun but didn’t seem to do anything it wouldn’t go in the original 32 mag. It went down the road with no regrets. I’d just tweak it like I normally do and shoot it!

I’ll take it if Tyrone does not.

My FFL boxed it up with his number in it I took it to the post office and mailed it he never took possession and the gunsmith is shipping back to me LEGAL??? Not sure but I sure can not see the one person sho signed the ffl at a larger gun store takes every single gun they ship down to the post office rather than do the paperwork and have a line employee take the packages to the post office. Explained that to the postal employee and she said no problem. Same thing when I worked with my former ffl. May be because I’m in a small town of under 16k residents and the ffl and postal staff all know each other by name.

The ffl did ship it to the receiving ffl m. He signed the paperwork and recorded as a dhipment. I just carried it to the post office for him and paid the postage.

AS you guys know the last couple of months have been a whirlwind of activity trying to rehome the 100+guns my BIL had in his two safes. I am down to just one hand gun and the last long gun is on consignment at the local shop and not a moment too soon. With the new UPS shipping BS I was still able to ship handguns through the other arm of the local shop. Since they do a ton of UPS shipments of safety products they get a really good rate and it helped tremendously. After the last shipment of 4-5 handguns they mentioned that UPS had contacted them and told them that now they needed to have their FFL on file with UPS in order for UPS to ship handguns for them. The owner said that gun shipments was such a small part of their business that they were not willing to jump through those hoops nor were they willing to jeopardize their main business by crossing UPS.
Today I went down to ship the last of the reloading components through their shop and the owner said that she did not want to ship ANYTHING gun related any longer. No brass, no bulk bullets, nothing. I asked her if she preferred me to take it to the local private shipping outlet and ship through them and she sheepishly said yes. I tried to explain that the UPS change involved firearms, not components but she did not want to to anything to harm their core business so she didn't care. Her business, her call. Luckily I still had one of the USPS handgun shipping forms and I was able to take a handgun back down and have the gun guy sign the form I had filled out so I could take it down and ship it through USPS. He just wanted the description and Serial number to log it is as a shipment so then I had to explain how it worked to the nice lady at the post office. I explained that the form was only for the handgun I was shipping, not the long gun, where to file the form on her back desk in the file and that even though she did not need the senders and receivers FFL, I brought them in so she could confirm their legitimacy.
So you see why it was good not to bruh my teeth! I just got the last of all the guns shipped by that thick skin that my teeth wear by virtue of not brushing! (Tongue in cheek guys)

More than I would pay personally.

Your best bet may well be to find a local FFL that is in the UPS system and pay them to handle it.

May be why the last of 70+ short guns from the family estate to still be here is a Raging Bull. Just did not have much response on the “Bull” guns.

Good job Brock. I have to admit it makes it kind of tough knowing I turned in my tag for the elk hunt just west of Hells Canyon this next Wednesday seeing bulls down like that.

The butt stock is wobbly and I have to hit the barrel and action with a good coat of oil then the steel wool to get the rust down to a manageable level each year but hey, the turkeys don't know that! Besides, I dont shoot at any bird further than about 15 yards with it. Its funny how when I was skinning this bird out so many of the pellets were just under the skin. Oh, the mini lightweight by Kim Ralston does great at skinning and filleting turkeys too!

I just looked at the old break action and I was wrong. It is a Harrington & Richards Topper Jr relic.

Our fall turkey season kicked off a couple days ago so I’ve made a few trips up the road to the farm I maintain and tried to bag one of these sharp eyed buggers. Yesterday was a zig day rather than a zag day so no luck. I went up again this morning to try the flick that lives on the other side of the farm and after crawling over fences and ripping my pants and tender flesh parts on the top barb wire I was finally able to knock one of the stragglers down. No handguns allowed so it is shotgun or bow here in Oregon.
Since I gave my inherited shotgun to my nephew so he would have something of his grandfathers whom he never got to meet, I use the only scattergun left. This a 40 year old Stevens Topper single shot 20 gauge that lives in the barn for shooting gophers. I have four, well now three, of the original box of #7 1/2s left so that’s what gets carried. No being a true “turkey hunter” but turkey noodle soup eater, I don’t do much of the full camo, face net, decoy thing. Instead I hunt these birds the same way I often hunt deer. Spot and stalk hunting. Knowing the land on the farm like I do and since I’ve spent years cutting trails for elderly owners to walk and ride on I use my binos and the tree and brush cover to sneak up on these big wild chickens. Not the traditional turkey hunting way but it seems to work. Nothing scares a flock of wild turkeys like when a non descript fir tree has a little black hole about 3’ off the ground suddenly belching smoke and a bunch of screaming bbs!
I get one more fall tag and if I score with it I’ll be down to my last two rounds from the 40 year old box. S as big, I may have to go buy my first box of shotgun shells before next spring!😀

I thought I would get a nice turkey but the flock zigged instead of zagged down the old single shot 20 gauge went back in the barn unfired.
