so 1st off, I have a buddy that has both the handgun, & the rifle, & loads for them... he used to really like it, but is such a busy guy, that shooting in general has take a back seat lately...
my being around him, & often consulted, when it came to reloading new things, I seem to remember that it's similar in diameter to the 9mm, but I think initial cases we formed from 223...
my mission here, is I ended up with around 300 new Winchester 9 X 21 head stamped cases... I'm curious if they are long enough to make TCM cases from... I honestly haven't found much else to do with them, & will likely take them with & put on my brass table at the next gun show... but it seems unlikely they'll sell that weekend... if not, I'm wondering if I can gift them to my buddy, to make TCM case with???

Thanks, don't need any... I got some this last week, & trying to figure out if there is a market for them at all???
maybe a secondary market, like they might work for making into 22 TCM cases???

Doing a little digging seems likely ke they are a dead case, with no interest???

the question really comes from my retired buddy... IMO, it would cost more money, but make the cartridge much more practical to just have another bullet mold cut for powder coated bullets, making the heal that thickness smaller... and probably the whole bullet diameter, as these require pushing the bullets through another sizer, after being powder coated

As far as a list… right now I have a legal page size sheet of Rifle, haven’t gone through my handgun yet… I can include a picture of each list, when I get them done

I think I had 100 last year and sold them, but I’ll be going through my handgun brass in the next week or so, I’ll check

I hauled some stuff out of my retired gun smith buddies shop for him, & an old project came home with me... his 476 WTH... ( there were some threads here, when we built them... basically a 45 Colt revolver with a 475 barrel on it, & the cylinder bored straight through... bullets are heal seated into full length 45 Colt cases... in messing with this, we tried powder coating the bullets, to avoid external lubing of the bullets, but that made the heal thicker, & we should order a different custom mold, if we were going to powder coat the full bullet... this leads to my question, if there is something that could be on the bullet, that would make the powder stick to the bullet, by just swirling the nose in the powder, if each bullet was held by the heal... this would powder coat the bearing surface, without adding any thickness to the heal area... anything I can think of, would not work with the heating process... Thoughts??? this is the original thread... with most relevant pictures & info from here to the end of the thread... singleactions.proboards.com/thread/20128/achilles-type-project-pictures-added?page=5

I always check out links like these... my retired gun smith buddy built a 45-70 revolver by hand, back when he was young enough, that all the finish work got done... he ended up gifting it to his daughter, & they were seasonal campers, & it disappeared on weekend along with many other guns & ammo... sad thing is his will likely end up in a lake or??? as it was completely custom made, & had his social security number as the serial on the gun, it had to be pretty hard to sell...
so I always look at the 45-70 revolver listings, to see if it would ever show up... his was all steel, looked just like a bigger Ruger maximum... I actually shot it once, many years ago, before he gifted it to his daughter...

before the next gun show ( I sell brass )... it's been challenging to get brass cheap enough I can resell it... got some interesting cases this year, from, him... from a box of 100 new 22 Hornet, to a box of 200 new 45 Winchester Magnum... other interesting things, included some new & once fired 222 Magnum, some new & once fired 307 Winchester, some 264 Winchester magnum, & some 348 Winchester... I kind of like to have unusual stuff... I can't make any money, trying to sell 9mm & 223 cases...
I'm taking home 50 unfired new 50-70 Dixie cases, & a couple handfulls of 38 S&W cases, for myself...
BTW... if anyone has any odd brass they would sell cheap, let me know...
