Yeah, seen a few a gun shows. Elmer Keith either wrote about them or the Phelps guns.

I think Taffin sold one off recently. Never handled one however I'm not sure "handled" is the correct way of phrasing that either.

I shot Rob Leahy's a few years ago in Arkansas.

I always check out links like these... my retired gun smith buddy built a 45-70 revolver by hand, back when he was young enough, that all the finish work got done... he ended up gifting it to his daughter, & they were seasonal campers, & it disappeared on weekend along with many other guns & ammo... sad thing is his will likely end up in a lake or??? as it was completely custom made, & had his social security number as the serial on the gun, it had to be pretty hard to sell...
so I always look at the 45-70 revolver listings, to see if it would ever show up... his was all steel, looked just like a bigger Ruger maximum... I actually shot it once, many years ago, before he gifted it to his daughter...

Is that a cross bolt safety?

My cousin had one of those and actually shot a few deer with it. He just got tired of toting the cannon around without any wheels
