For me, in a production gun, the FAs model 83 with a 6" OCT barrel is it. For a full custom and overall is Bowens light weight .45Colt SAA. Sorry #5s your not even in the running on this one far as I'm concerned.

Box stock Colt SAA, 4.75" barrel, .45 Colt, blue and color case hardened, ivory grips. Joe Jmiller beat me to it, but I'd add the one with the so-called black powder frame, It has really clean lines. I even like it with the standard Eagle stocks. Frank

I am conflicted on this. If you laid the gun Joe described on a table next to an 1860 and a 3rd Dragoon--and told me I could have just ONE--I'd be like a 'coon in a ripe persimmon tree. I wouldn't know which one to reach for first

The stainless steel Bowen Nimrod does it for me.

The stainless steel Bowen Nimrod does it for me. +1 for sure! As I mentioned on Axe's Salt & Pepper post in the Gallery, I think Bowen's Nimrods have reached the pinnacle of both form and function.

There's two,the one I've seen in person and handled that drives me crazy is JL's 500L with a 4 3/4 bl and brass bisley grip frame. And the second I saw on this site was a 480 made by Huntington out of a vaquero with blue pins.

For me, in a production gun, the FAs model 83 with a 6&1/2 OCT barrel is it. Well, I'm partial to the 7-1/2".... The early Super Blackhawks are "really something", IMHO. Image of a friend's Super. Carl

No doubt I'll be the "Lone Ranger" on this one but my pick is a plain, off the shelf, Talo Ruger SS Flattop with 4 5/8" barrel in .44 Special. A prettier revolver (no bells and whistles) with a better general caliber does not exist!
Yeah, I'm prejudiced! but "What the hey!", it's still a free country...
