The three most beautiful things in this world are a running horse, a sleeping baby, and a naked woman.
a very distant fourth is a fine firearm. DL gives me reason to believe a custom single action may be that gun.

I have to land in the 1860 Army camp, with a close second to the 1861 Navy.

Looked thru Taffins books and handgun magazines.....Bowens Rugers with barrel bands are awesome to the eye, however..as far as feel goes, it must go to Freedom Arms.

I've seen some outstanding guns posted on this forum, but two that stand out in my mind right now are: Robb Barnes (kings6) blue custom Bowen #5, with a Bowen #5 base pin latch, octagonal barrel, and Ivory grips with beautifully carved steer head. I believe it was an OM .357 converted to .44 spl. A spectacular piece.
Another close choice that I think is one of the "best" custom handguns that I've ever seen is: Fermin's (2 Dogs) Clements NM #5, with brush chromed finish, barrel band and Ivory (maybe antique micarta) grip panels. No matter what the grip material, it's one of the best lookin'sixguns I've ever laid my eyes on!
The configuration choices for both of these "custom" firearms was obviously well thought out, making them two of the very best. Remember, life's too short to shoot an ugly gun!

P.S ..... kings6 & 2 Dogs, if you can take a bit of time to post pix of the 2 handguns described above, it would probably help forum members make the correct association. Thanks gentlemen!

Box stock Colt SAA, 4.75" barrel, .45 Colt, blue and color case hardened, ivory grips. Joe Plus one. Ivory grips are the cat's !@#, but any grip on that gun will do. Mine has hard rubber, and is my favorite to gaze at. A great shooter too.

Production revolver? I think it's hard to beat the FA 83......now if they only made one in blue...... This little Uberti I recently took delivery of is quite nice looking.

Come on down! It has really exceeded my expectations in every regard. It's also proven quite accurate in the limited amount of shooting I have done with it. I really like the price tag as well.

I'm not really a fan of shiny guns, although I have a couple. I think it's hard to beat good color case and a smooth blue. If I knew how to post photos, I would put up my favorite: USFA 44 Special from Turnbull with Outlaw ebony one-piece grip.
