I find these fixed-sighted guns with the S&W adjustables interesting. Now on something like a Bearcat the reason is obvious but is the reason for doing it to a Vaquero purely for aesthetics or am I missing something? I love the looks of the older style single action revolvers, but my eyes aren't the best and I have a real hard time seeing the thin, fairly shiny, fixed front sights that are stock on these guns. The front patridge style sight, combined the with S&W adjustable is just the ticket for me. That Montado of mine was hard to keep all shots on a 10" paper plate at 7 yards! AFter I got it back from Alan, the first 6 shots went easily under an inch and 3 or 4 went through the same hole. Now, Alan did more that install the sights for me. He reamed the cylinder throats and did an action job, too. But still, those front sights help me tremendously to see and sight-in better.

love the light weight Colt. Where could you buy that front sight??? Its(the front sight) not in Bowen's web site for sale. Note that the front sight on this custom is dovetailed into the barrel. I don't know that Hamilton sells those separately, but you could email him and ask. He has always replied to every email I sent him. Dovetail is what I liked . could get windage and still keep the SAA look. I will try the e-mail idea.. thanks...
