Whit... do you flip around between a regular scope & a Red Dot???
curious about the quick detach rings... if so, do you find a "real good" ( target grade ) realignment when switching back & forth, or only margin of hunting animal at 50 yards???
are those Talley Rings???

I started the hunt last year with the 4x scope, and later switched to the Ultradot 30. Those are Leupold rings. Just wanted a way to expedite the switch... |

Nice! Any pics of the BFR with the new factory black grips? (Fun to see others new toys!) I love the "ivory" grips...something about those, but also toying with the idea of the black ones on my next BFR. Black Micarta.....  Yep! That's what I'm talking about...thanks, Max! Dang it! I love my white grips on my BFR's...but now...? |

What barrel length is that?
Also for those of you who have been able to shoot both, which grips do you prefer on the BFR, the standard BFR take on the Bisley or the JRH modified plow handle?

definitely prefer the Bisley grip it's a well executed shape & size... this is my 5.5" 500 JRH, before I got the black grips, with a custom Super Blackhawk 480 Ruger with a 4.8" barrel ( traditionally measured )  |

1st picture with the new cell phone... work switched me from Android to "I" Phone...  I actually like the old Bisley style hammers better... anyone have one they would part with??? otherwise this is a near perfect gun for me  |

Shoot that hammer some. I liked mine's functionality more than I thought I would, but it's still ugly.

Whit... is that one of Fermins front sights??? I was told I have the tallest factory front sight on mine, pictured above, & yours looks noticeably taller... factory said it was sighted in, but seemed to be 4" or so high at 25 yards, with 28 grains of H-110 & a Matt's 440 grain WFN bullet, last time I had it out... I've been working with Fermin for a taller replacement... still under construction yet...  Factory sight for the 5.5" 500 JRH  |

thanks... just looks taller than mine In the manual that came with the gun there's a page that defines the heights of all the factory front sights offered by BFR. You can use that to check if you got the highest. I had the highest and was able to hit POI with the factory, but still wasn't doing what I wanted, so I put a Fermin sight on mine. Haven't had the chance to get out and shoot it yet. |

Fermin has that special "Dos Dogs Sense" about such things..... FWIW when he and his brother made the first run of front sights I got three for my BFRs. I never installed a single one on a BFR and haven't seen them in many years. They will turn up one day and I'll have to buy BFRs for them
