No..... The 500 JRH is the SAME RIM size as the 500S&W Mag and 500 S&W Special. It's only ever turned down specifically for use in FA guns that were converted. They do not come like that from the factory. It's not speced like that from the factory. The 500JRH is a turn key firearm to reload/shoot once you trim it down to the correct, 1.4" OAL for all firearms excluding FA conversions. Don't even look at or read about the 500JRH in a FA gun if you don't plan to get one. You're only confusing the situation since it's a special case ONLY FOR FA firearms. Also starline won't make you brass. I've tried. You can buy them from Buffalo Bore directly. www.buffalobore.com/index.php?l=product_list&c=166I just measured my Starline JRH brass: rim is 0.545" (varies from 0.5450-0.5455") as opposed to my S&W brass with a rim measuring 0.556". This is not special FA brass--this is what comes from Buffalo Bore but made by Starline. This is the only source of factory brass marked JRH that I know of. If I don't want to use up this JRH brass, I just cut down S&W brass and use in in my BFR, which also accomodates the larger S&W rim in the countersunk chambers. The .480 Ruger/.475 Linebaugh shell holder should work with the JRH-marked brass.

Thanks for the reminder... I need to buy an extra 475 shell holder, and one for the Lee hand prime tool...

Waiting is hard. You will really enjoy that gun. Just got a call from Magnum Research today. My 4 5/8's JRH should be back this week also. Reloading now for the welcome home.

Max... can you refresh memory... how much those punch bullets weigh in comparison to the ( I'm assuming ) Lehigh bullet, in the Buffalo Bore ammo???
... & any idea when Lehigh will release those bullets to the general public???

The Kodiak Punch weighs 420 grains, the LeHigh weighs 400 grains. I don't know when they will be available to the general public, but I would imagine soon.

so I'm assuming the Lehigh doesn't chew up too much more case capacity than a bullet like the punch, with the wider meplat???
side profile shows bullet in the case, looks similar to the Matt's 440's I was using...

It's a bit longer and it does eat some case capacity, but they're running right around 1,350 fps. I just shot some and they're accurate. Here's a group I shot at 25 and at 50 yards about a half an hour ago.
