so... the smaller rim on the JRH ( done for the FA revolvers ) all JRH has these smaller rims??? but it's not smaller enough to where it's excessively loose in the 500 S&W shell holder??? I like a nice tight fitting shell holder... is there one out there specifically for the JRH??? ***** A SHELLHOLDER should be made to closely fit SIDEWALL of case above rim. Rim cut in shellholder should have enough clearance for light dings. A shell holder which is loose against sidewall of case peens the rim on extraction from the sizing die. David Bradshaw

I have used many of the CP 440's with great results in my JRH. Also have cast my own using the Lee 440 mold with very good results.

as far as case availability from Buffalo Bore... So... I pulled the trigger on my 1st BFR... can't let my buddy have all the BFR fun this summer, with the 460 he just bought... So... I'd really like to add a set of Black Bisley grips... I wonder if I can order those & just install, or if they are only available if sent into the custom shop??? I could not find them available on the website... and the real question... can Zane make some nice wood grips for this thing

I have a question for those of you that have the Buffalo bore brass.
As far as I understand. Huntington also reamed out the inside of proper 500jrh brass to except deeper seated bullets. I have not done this and do not have the tools to do it. This would be the only way to get more than about .500 into the case before getting into the webbing. ( on starline brass trimmed to 1.4.). I also know that the web goes higher on some Winchester brass I have.
Question. Does the proper headstamp 500JRH brass from Buffalo bore come “reamed out”. To except longer heavier Bullets

To except longer heavier Bullets It doesn't come reamed and really isn't necessary. What is your intended use?

There are Bullets I have looked at that are two long to the crimp for the trimmed down s&w brass without reaming. I do not own any of those molds because at this point I had not intended to ream any. Was just wondering if the “JRH” brass was already reamed out to provide some flexibility with molds. The bullets I currently have and cast work with the web how it is.

If you get Starline JRH brass from Buffalo Bore use a 475/480 shell holder. The starline stuff is very loose in the 500 mag shell holder.

If you get Starline JRH brass from Buffalo Bore use a 475/480 shell holder. The starline stuff is very loose in the 500 mag shell holder. It’s because it has the correct small rim.

So... To go back to my post on page 1... I will need a different shell holder, for the correct headstamp cases from Buffalo Bore

The JRH stuff from Buffalo Bore is pricey but I like having the stamped stuff. I have 500 smiths so its nice to not have to have long and short smith brass around.
