Nope...it's a plow handle...I've never been able to warm up to Bisleys. I ordered it directly from Magnum Research (they're a sponsor of a couple of my shows). Ordered it in December, and was just notified that it has shipped. Michael B It is kind of pleasant to hear somebody else can not get friendly with Bisley's. I have never liked the look of a Bisley either, but I always understood I was in a minority.

I attended a "duck unlimited" event once at the local Chinese buffet. I stuffed myself on Peking duck until I was sick. Course I was hungry again 30 minutes later.

Good Monday Morning to y'all. Lots of heavy fog around Poetry Texas this morning. Headed for mid 60's and sunshine today but back to rain and storms tomorrow. Gonna enjoy the sun today while I can. I am working on my third cup of coffee, listening to yesterday's "Gun Talk" podcast and heading out to feed stock. Hope you all have a safe successful and blessed day today.

Gotta love them old metaphors. One of my all time favorites is; "colder than a cast iron commode on the shady side of an iceberg"

Been raining for 12 hours straight now and most all the streams, tanks and ponds are over their banks. Lots of flooded roads this morning. The temps dropped quite a bit during the night as well, 68 at 6 PM yesterday and 34 at 6 AM today. Hope you all have a safe successful and blessed day.

70 and light rain here in Poetry Texas today. We are headed toward heavy rain and thunderstorms later today and this evening. Looks like the buds are starting to pop out on the trees and the grass is starting to green up in the pastures. Hope you are all having a successful, safe and restful day.

I agree with lscg on a couple points. I've made a lot of Merino sheep horn grips and they definitely look like Merino horn to me. I also agree with him on the Devcon clear drying epoxy for fixing imperfections on the horn. You can also mix a little dye into it if you need to match the horn color. Certainly the Dall sheep horn is harder to get than the Merino sheep horn. But whether it's Dall or Merino, I price grips on the final look of the grips. I've seen some Dall and Merino horn grips that were kind of plain looking and I've seen both that really looked beautiful. If you want to be able to say "That's real Dall sheep horn", well that's good for you, although some guy standing next to you might have a set of Merino horn grips that are a lot prettier. For me, material names don't carry much weight, it's how the grips look. Well said sir.

Good Monday Morning from Poetry Texas.
it was a balmy 65 at 4 AM. We are headed for mid 70's and thunderstorms later. Spring is popping up every few days. Gonna pour my second cup and head out to feed the stock. Have a successful sake and blessed day.

My understanding is that the Carpenter 465 used for the 480 and 454 cylinders is not so much harder than the stainless, it is just stronger. I would suspect that any reamer capable of dealing with a standard stainless cylinder would work fine for the Carpenter cylinders. Very true. Stronger does not necessarily mean harder and in fact can sometimes even be a little more workable but handles pressure better due to being less brittle and better memory.

Put me down for the 45 Colt. I guess I am just a traditional old school old codger.

Right now, I'd just settle for the rubber duck from oriental trading floating right side up. 5 year old's new rubber duck floats face down in his tub and nothing we can do is working to get it to float upright. Shouldn't that have been a priority in design?... Not sure but, just a thought but, you said it was from an "oriental trading company". Since China is on the other side of the world maybe it does float right side up over there and it just got mixed in in packaging and shipping. You got one of the China ducks instead of a USA duck? Any other ideas guys? Hope you all have a safe and fulfilling day of rest. Steve
