BOOM
Good Morning from Poetry, TX. I purchased a new pistol last evening. It is technically a single action as it is a 1911, but I figure it can be mentioned in the Hi-Jack thread. It is a Turnbull 1911 Heritage Commander, with Giraffe bone grips, color case frame, carbon blue slide and nitre blue controls. I have been needing to put a 45 1911 back in the carry holster and this one should work out nicely. I hope to have it at my dealer for pick up sometime tomorrow. Thanks for letting me share my fun.

I had a thought this weekend when I heard a country song about a boy takes a drunk girl home, but a man gives her a ride home and leaves. Insinuating a man does not take advantage. So I was thinking about boyhood transition descriptions. One I came up with and kind of liked was "a boy is proud of the job he has and a man is proud of the job he does." I would enjoy hearing any ideas you have or quotes you have heard and liked.
Hope you have a safe, happy, successful and blessed day.

Figure the folks pointing to a spring issue more experienced than I. A thought, clean, degrease firing pin area and relube with less, and lighter lube, maybe a synthetic if you like them. I do. My thought as well. Could be grime build up is slowing down the firing pin. Especially if the pin was lubed with grease. Maybe?

I remember when Wednesday was "hump" day but as you get older, run your own business and close in on retirement it turns out it is just another day.

Not trying to Hijack a thread, but it seems to me the 38 Casull would be a close match to the 357 Sig?

Just out of curiosity, why a 6.5 Grendel versus other 6.5's?
I know very little about the 6.5's

God called him home, but not his memories. My condolences to his family and respect to his memory.

Instead of a "background check" we should use an IQ test. Some people should not be allowed near a gun.

If you want a Colt, nothing else will scratch the itch. If just want a copy, the Italian guns at one third the cost are the way to go. JMHO. This has been my personal experience. For a long while I was hooked on 1911's and originally I owned Colts, Govt Models, Gold Cups, Combat Commanders etc. Then I moved on to Kimbers for a while and finally owned shot and carried 4 or five Wilson Combat 1911's including a couple of Super Grades. All the while I was buying Kimbers and even Wilsons I had a nagging itch to buy a Colt, any Colt 1911. Even though every time I handled one it came no where near any of my Wilson's. Even to this day when all the 1911's have gone away I still get an itch to buy a Colt 1911. I had a similar experience with BFR's and Freedom Arms single actions. Every so often it would pop into my head that they were not Colts. It is funny how your mind can ignore logic and mess with your heart to mess with your head. On the other hand, it is also rewarding to handle, carry and shoot finely crafted handguns no matter what the markings are on the side of the barrel or slide.

Heres wishing you a great day Mr Taffin from the east side of Texas, where six-guns still rule the day.
