If a guy likes those long cylinder guns then great but call me old fashioned in that I just can’t get around the proportional aspects. The Ruger Maximum frame size is as long as I want to have and I even sold the 414 Supermag gun.

Ironically, here is a thread on a neat old model 41 and the same day my brother the other calls and says hex getting out of revolvers and wants to know if I want to buy his two old model 41 shorties! Heck ya!

Beautiful gun Kim! You know what the only thing I would change would be a bisley spurred hammer

Of all my Quest guns, the one Jim did is by far the most understated but classiest gun of the bunch.

5-7 years is a long time to wait on a custom gun and it is not for everybody. I just look at it this way. One, I am not sitting twiddling my thumbs 24/7 for seven years. I am doing life and ever day is full. Second, I don’t know about the rest of you but it is not like I don’t have anything else to shoot while I’m waiting. Third, if I am truly having a gun built just the way I want it and I am asking for something out if the ordinary “build menu” then I am willing to work with the time frames. I know it took over a year just to talk Hamilton into doing the #5 base pin latch on my #5 old model Ruger. I can live with that. If I can’t then I modify my wants or look to find someone else. No problem, it’s still a free country and to each his own.

How old are you? If you have the patience and the years to wait, Dustin. If you want it faster, just about anyone else I'd look at Andy Horvath for a good balance of quality and time.

A 30 yard dumpster with more stuff from the B-I-Ls place so we can try to get it ready to go on the market.

The fact that single shots tend to be 2-3 inches shorter than their bolt action cousins is one of the draws to me. My Browning B-78 in 7 mag much handier that the Remington 700 7 mag I gave my son.

About 7 years ago we had my old pickup torch off when it was started in the garage. My safe was in the house that ended up getting filled with smoke. No damage to those guns from smoke. My sons gun safe was about 6’ from the front of the truck where it torched off BUT since it was visible from the garage windows, I had it covered with one of the grey U-Haul blankets to reduce its “presence”. That blanket did not even singe! We had to have those guns fully cleaned to avoid smoke damage but that blanket even protected the paint on that non fire rated safe from bubbling!

With my 65 year old eyes I decided I would order one of the Skinner rimfire sights to try on one of these rifles. I am curious to see how it works for me since I am having one installed on a Marlin 41 Cowboy gun that Ben Forkin is building as well.
