Those are such handy little guns! If I had not recently bought a USFA of the same size I'd snag that and stick a bisley spurred hammer on it and call it good!

“Crap!!” That’s the reaction I have when I see a gun that is for sale that really trips my trigger but the gun wallet is inhabited by nothing but moths.

It would be a great companion except there is already an old model 41 getting build as a companion gun to the e lever action. My first complete from scratch gun I had Hamilton built was based on this guns twin. WE did a 5 1/2" Perfected bisley with French walnut grips by Roy Fishpaw then I later h ad John Gallagher fit a long cylinder to it. Too many other guns in the safe that will fill this ones shoes to justify cutting it up by me.

Sheriff has already found original party it was stolen from in Georgia so seller will deal with Sheriff’s office and refund my money. No problem, I still has able to pick up the Gallagher 45 bisley.

I bought a 1959 flat top that had an MR3-BD brass gripframe installed off Gunbroker a few weeks ago. When it arrived I went down and did my paperwork for the background check on myself and the gun but this morning I heard from the shop that the gun came back as stolen 🥴. Called the seller who is an ffl holder and was surprised since he’d owned the gun for over 35 years but he had no problem refunding my money if the police could not clear the gun.
I had this happen one other time years ago and when the police followed up the theft had been so long ago there was no longer any file in it so they released the gun to me.
We will have to see what happens this time.

If JT hadn’t read about Elmer blowing up a triple lock then I doubt it ever happened. I think I read where JT has collected a copy of all of Elmer’s articles so if he has not seen that in writing then I’d bank on it.
