It'll be 13 lbs, braked, with mercury recoil reduction. That Ackley has 160 ft/lbs of calculated recoil. The 600 Overkill has over 300 without taming. With a brake and mercury it drops to around 220 ft/lbs on paper. At those levels I've heard of folks detaching retinas. That said, I'm still building one. -Lee www.singleactions.comSounds like sadomasochism at it's best!

I feel the same about my New Ultra Light Arms lefthand model 20 in 7mm-08 as I do. About a my Freedom Arms 83 in 454 and model 97 in 44 special there is just something special when you are using a firearm that is so well built with a cartridge that is perfectly matched to the platform.

This FN Mauser....my only Mauser (and the only Mauser I have ever owned) is destined to go hunting with me next fall. It's got a sweet peep sight and is chambered in 30.06 It's my favorite rifle. I bought it from Zeus while he was 'thinning the herd'...it was a good day. It was manufactured during the mid-1950's. Bob
