I've probably killed more deer with my old Marlin 336 in .35 Remington than any I own. My favorite is a Ruger RSI in .308. I also have a sporterized Swede 6.5X55 that is a sweet shooter.

Sako action, Shilen barrel tapered #3 octagon, magnaported, Brown Precision carbon fiber stock, 3X Unertl scope in .375 H&H. With a 235 grain Speer backed with 68 grains of 4064. Everything stays anchored. Handgun is an early Freedom Arms 83, 6 barrel in .454 with a 310 grain NEI cast plain base, V type express sights.

I shoot either a 338WM by MGA or a 458M XLR.
I have ar10 & 15s but they are for play.

Asking which rifle I shoot is like asking what handgun I shoot. The question makes no sense because there is no one of anything. I shoot as many of everything I have as I can. Which one depends on what I am doing - paper, plinking or hunting and if the latter for what.
So many choices... so little dime!

Haven't carried a rifle for 15years or so; when I do, it'll be this one. Winchester 1894 takedown short rifle, circa 1907 or thereabouts. Turnbull reconditioned by previous owner

Here's a pic of my go-to deer whacker:

Last few years I've grown fond of an 1876 Winchester replica I have. It's chambered for the 45-60 cartridge...went that route because I had plenty of 45-70 brass to cut down for it.

I decided to rifle hunt this year. I've taken a hog with my suppressed 22-250 as well as my 22BR. Both were taken last weekend. My brother said he got a glimpse of a 300+ pounder so my 338 Lapua gets the nod for this evening!

My brother said he got a glimpse of a 300+ pounder so my 338 Lapua gets the nod for this evening! That is interesting with a .338 Lapua and a 300 lb squealer. Following that logic I would guess that the .22 250 and the 22 br must have been 60 lb porkers.

Nah, the big gun will kill smaller pigs... And the little gun will kill bigger pigs!

I hunt mostly deer. The 30-06 with a 150 grain Remington Core-Lokt cartridge does just fine. For frogs, a .22 is the ticket for head shots.

Well I have been running a 300 grain Sierra Match King with 92 grains of Retumbo ignited with a Federal 215. What is in yours? Scope is a US optics 3 X 17. I am not using a supressor on this one only on the .22.
Did you have any luck with the 300 pounder the other day?

I have shot both the Lapua and Hornady 250 grain factory loads in mine. I also have a box of Lapua 300 grain stuff to try, but I want to get Henry to glass bed this particular rifle first to "weld" it to the stock. I am running a Leupold 6.5x20 Mil Dot and no suppressor on this thing. Our mutual friend with the extra hairy face sent me some brass, and while I am working on prepping it up, I havent started handloading for mine yet.
