I'm a big fan of leverguns. I don't have any pics currently but I have a Winchester 94 trails end 45 colt with a large loop, a Winchester 94 cowboy commemorative 30-30, a Winchester Cheif Crazy Horse commemorative, a LSI/Rossi M92 .44 magnum with a 20" barrel, and a LSI/Rossi M92 in .357 magnum with a large loop and 16" barrel. The model 92 is my favorite lever action so far. I'd really like to get another Rossi M92 or two in .454 casull and/or .480 ruger. My dream rifle would be a modern model 1886 chambered in 50-110 to go along with my BFR.

You have a BFR in .50-110?? Yes I do. I haven't shot it a whole lot but that's mostly because I only have about 50 rds of ammo for it. It isn't brutal to shoot but that's probably because I only have factory ammo and I think the muzzle break does a good job. I have no need for it I just thought it would be cool after reading about a few people having 50 alaskan bfr's and also reading about Whitworth's D-max 50 alaskan.

My goodness! If the .44 I saw had looked like that, the seller would have had all my money!

Total luck of the draw, too. GB auction, seller had a handful, and was blowing them out when Marlin couldn't give 'em away. Can't recall the exact price but my recollection is somewhere around $295 or so, back in 2003.
Truthfully, it was a bit rough around the edges at first. Sharp edges, lazy wood to metal fitting, loose fore stock, poor butt pad attachment, and a great big drip in the poly finish. Many of those issues were ironed out by my doting on it, and especially with use. And some of 'em I just don't notice any more.
It was a bit of work, though, and absent my trigger, action, and sight upgrades, plus, coupled with the" B-minus" finishing, it's not hard to see why Marlin began to slide downhill. Strange, because they were producing so many neat guns during this period... the various 1895 Limiteds, the 94CP .357, the various stainless shorties, and of course the CCL and CCH .38 "competition" specials. Mostly variations on the same theme, but guns that are highly sought after a decade later.
In fact, the .41 CCL, a dream gun of mine for years, fell into my hands when I was relocating from CA to IA. It ended up sitting in a box, pristine, for a long while. And remembering what I went through to get this 94P up to speed, and recognizing how perfectly it was filling the role of "traveling gun" for me, I decided, painfully, to let the CCL go. Happily, I knew just the guy who would appreciate it. That's another story, and hopefully one for which he'll fill in the details later this year!

Just had neibhor/gunsmith pick up my M1894 for some TLC.. and a WildWest ejector. He'll de-burr, slick up,etc.. Burrs, galling, razor sharp edges to be stoned away.

My first rifle was a levergun...1966 Marlin 39A Golden long barrel... Picked this one up a few weeks ago...1964 39A Golden Carbine... ...and I like .41s.... 1894CCL/1894S/1894LTD 255 Cast Performance at 50 yards sitting.. IIRC this was a 336/.35 Remington...it was just too pristine to hunt with... ..and a 1894P .44 I had...
