Here she is...my first lever gun fresh home from the store today Hardly a mark on it. Just a tiny mark or two where the scope mount was. Removed that and re installed the original screws that were in a packet in the box. Gave it a good cleaning, and caused myself a minor stroke when I put it back together and couldn't get it to cycle. Followed a video with instructions. Was doing everything exactly like in the vid, but the lever wouldn't work the action. Just as I was about to give up, I noticed a part laying on the rag where I was cleaning. Figured it must have fallen out of the back of the bolt when I picked it up to clean. Yup, after a few seconds of trying to figure out where it went... PRESTO! back in action and working fine! After a rough start, I'm a real happy camper now! The pics don't really do it justice.

savit, Nice Marlin. I have one myself and sure enjoy it!! It's cool you found such a fine example! I picked up this 336 Magnum (chambered in .44 Magnum) last week. Now my 1894 has a buddy in the safe. This gun's vintage...1966. Bob

Old guys and lever guns... Must be the years! Found a 39 a few years back. Did a home boy age calculation and figured it was a mid 60s gun. Man was I shocked when I learned that the letter prefix made it 1952 production just like me! Just had to have that one!

Got a chance to take my new used 39a to the indoor range last night. Was knocking golf balls around the base of the burm at 25 yard with great ease. Love the gold bead front sight/ couldn't be happier
