The PARA LS Hunter is now my favorite. I've put several thousand rounds through mine with no problems. Para is now pretty much gone. The S&W 10xx series guns are great too but parts are drying up (if you ever need some). I had all of the 10 series guns and parted with all of them in the past year just to consolidate to only what I shoot and "need" for defense. If you could find a 10xx series gun they are highly dependable and good shooters. The new Sig 10mm may be comparable to the Smith guns but I haven't messed with one yet.

I believe Kimber and Springfield both make 10mm's.

Glock so are a less expensive way to try the 10mm... That's what I thought until I built one. I really wanted a Para long slide, but didn't want to pay the asking price. (and was scared by it being a Para.) So instead I put together a Glock long slide. And when I was done I was about $150 or so shy of what they wanted for the Para. Doh! And try as I might, I couldn't grow to like the large Glock frame. So I decided to sell it... the very week Glock announced the release of a factory 10mm long slide. Doh! Doh! I ended up parting it out and taking a heck of a beating. Para announced the end of the road so I broke out the over burdened credit card. Made some changed to my liking. Not's not badly made. Small parts are so-so. Slide to frame is great side to side, a little more up and down than I'd like. Accuracy has been unimpressive to me anyway. Going to try a tight angle bore EGW pushing tomorrow and see if that helps. I have a Buckeye that I've fired 50 rounds of 10mm through in all the years Ive owned it.

I've been wanting a 10mm for about 20 years but since I was deeply embedded in .38 Super that more than met my needs semi-auto wise and .41 Magnum for the woods just could not justify another caliber.
Have looked at the Kimber Stainless Target II in 10mm as I have one in .38 Super and at a grand very reasonably priced for what one gets. But again just could not justify it... Looked at the Para Hunter but was waiting to see a new one in person since the Freedom Group takeover.
Last year Glock came out with their long slide Model 40 and I thought what a great "car gun"...not to carry but stored in something like a Wilderness Safepacker with a light/laser hung on the rail...but I resisted... The other day one of the guys over on the 24HRCF posted that 6" .38 Super conversion barrels were now available for the Glock 40...and that did it...ordered one Friday along with 1000 Starline cases and 1000 Berry's 155 FPHB bullets...
Once the gun gets here and tested looks like a set of TruGlo TFX sights and a Streamlight TLR-2-HL-G light/green laser will be added.
I'm going 155 grain bullets for now for two reason...recoil control and the sectional density of the 155 matches the SD of the 125 .357 JHP...and since this bullet has proven to be the best on two-legged vermin I'll try it first. Hornady XTP, Barnes solid copper, Speer Gold Dot and lots of factory ammo are available in this weight...
It is what happens in the winter...I go crazy...

My Para has been great with everything I fired through. I do like the change you made to yours as far as the cerakote and grips. Mine is a plain jane factory gun. The only thing that I had found not to my liking is the trigger. Might ship it off to be tuned.

Have owned a EAA Witness for a number of years. Very accurate and built like a tank. I do not remember it ever jamming on me.

I do like the change you made to yours as far as the cerakote and grips. That's the factory PVD finish, not something I did. The factory grips were VZ Gators(?) in camo that I wasn't crazy about. The magwell came off something else and was just taking up space. The internals are so-so mim parts. I did trigger work on mine the break is light and crisp.... well, most of the time. Every once in a while I get some creep and I don't know why, vey confusing this gun. I'd like to change some of the internals, but I don't feel like changing the safeties (or welding and building it up) if they won't work with a new sear, so I've left it alone. I figure they parts will work fine for the limited shooting (relatively speaking anyway) it will see. Of course I just turned my super trigger, light and crisp into firm and crisp by putting in a 30 something pound main hammer spring to try and keep the ejected brass in the same area code.

Looks like Dan Wesson may have a new longslide 10mm called "The Bruin" here pretty soon...

They is a guy by the name of Axe Handle that sold me a dam good shooting Kimber Target II a couple years ago. It still shoots as good as ever and when I put reloads in it with Power Pistol powder and 180 XTP's the deer get real nervious. I got a new Sig 220 10MM on order and will see how it does. Is axe handle part monkey? I have always wondered.

I've been thinking about a 10mm. It'll likely be a glock due to weight. I might want one of the old Smith and Wesson's otherwise.

My general purpose bear mace dispenser is a G-20 SF. It's outfitted with a KKM barrel, night sights and a 22 lb recoil spring and - connector. I'd like to try a DW 10mm but they appear to be scarcer then hens teeth. If I ever get the 3 1911 builds on my bench cleard off and stll have a hankering, I might build a 10 with a W/N ramped barrel. I think a 10 would be easier to build than a 9 as far as reliability and feeding.
