Glock so are a less expensive way to try the 10mm, I do believe that in the near future I will buy a new barrel for it and shoot some cast bullets with it. Ronnie Which barrel do you plan on trying? Any particular one better than the others? BigBore44

Not sure of who's best, it'll either be KKM or lone wolf, wish Jarvis made one. Ronnie

I have been primarily a 1911 guy for 28 years for background, and for the last five years have been getting into single action revolvers. About a year ago A super clean barely used Glock 20 SF presented itself CHEAP so I figured what the heck, I wanted to try out 10mm. I had never owned or even fired a Glock before that.
I have a love/hate relationship with it. I love the power and capacity, and it carries easily for a full size gun. I HATE the trigger and the fact that i normally can only find 30% of my brass if I shoot it out doors. 10mm Has given me a new appreciation for AA #9. It's reasonably accurate and I feel well armed in the woods or urban jungle and find myself carrying it a LOT more than I thought I would (originally thought it would just be a woods gun for me).
At the range I find myself shooting it more to keep proficient with it rather than for fun, but losing new Starline brass at an alarming rate takes a lot of the fun away.
And I would trade it for that Clements GP100 in a heartbeat !!!
* I also have a standard length Storm Lake barrel for mine, which I am underwhelmed with. It's accurate as all get out but has too many jams to ever consider for carry use.

What about the S&W 1000 series guns?
I've seen Gunblast references to them being quite nice.

Did a custom build on the STI 2011 frame a few years ago that turned out right fine... 15 shot 6"bbl and Slide 10mm, and they make both single stack and hi-cap Tens. Also seems like I saw a six inch Para somewhere. But for me I like the 10mm best in a 5 inch single stack 1911. It ain't too beaucoup if you spring it properly. And it'll do anything a .45 ACP will do, and then some.

Yeah, I kinda' liked those Para hunters but try and find one now.
They were trying to give them away a few years ago...

Olympic arms upper. Uses modified Uzi 41ae mags. Bought the plastic Olympic mag when they first came out.....didn't work:( Had this quite a long time .
He 357 sig uses sten mags and is DI. Had this a long time too. The General consensus now is that a 357 sig needs to be a gas gun instead of DI now.

For hiking in grizzly country I prefer the Glock 20. For general hunting I like the S&W Model 610 with 10mm and 10mm magnum cylinders, T/C Contender in 10mm mag. or the Ruger Buckeye single action. For general shooting the Dan Wesson 1911's are great.

GJN... you mention the 610 in 10 mag "cylinders" do you actually have different cylinders you change out??? I started with a 10 mm Magnum Automag 4 ( which I love ) then chambered my 10 mm Contender barrel to 10 Mag... then a couple years later bought the 610... I just deepened the chambers of the original cylinder to 10 Mag, & can shoot the 10 Mag, the 10mm & the 40 S&W using the moon clips... though I prefer to download 10 mag brass with Trailboss, to the 40 S&W levels, rather than shoot shorter cases in my longer chambers ( better accuracy ) of my 10mm ( I also have the Witness listed in my earlier thread )... I like the S&W 610 best... but then I'm more of a "Magnum Wheel Man" than an auto guy

When they were available I bought two extra cylinders in 10mm. I had one lengthened to 10mm magnum and fit to my 6.5" S&W 610 so I do have two cylinders that I swap back and forth. Haven't worked with the 10mm magnum much but have a good supply of brass and hope to remedy that soon. I do really like the 10mm in a revolver.

between the revolver & the Contender barrel... sounds like we have similar interests in the 10mm I should buy some more 10 Mag brass... I bought a couple 1000... many years ago, specifically for my Automag... since adding the Contender barrel & the revolver... I could justify a couple 1000 more
