Bowen in 500 Linebaugh Somewhat rare 7.5" octagon barrel Turnbull case color Persinger ivory interchangeable front sight with 2 gold bars Unfortunately, somewhere along the way someone tried to lighten the trigger pull and tweaked the timing in the process. The gun was returned to Bowen who corrected the timing issue with the replacement and refitting of several internal parts. Also repolished and reblued the cylinder, barrel and front sight to correct some pretty bad safe rash. Good as new now! I want this one in the WORST of ways....

Thanks! I wasn't sure about the 7.5" octagon when I first bought it preferring the 5.5" barrels, but I've really warmed up to the longer length.

This thread is awesome! I can't afford any of these outstanding guns so if any of you would like to send me one I'd gladly take over custodial duties.π€ππ

I saw this come back to the top and although Iβve seen it before I just read through it again. My, my, there are some beautiful revolvers here. I have no full custom revolvers, although Mr. Harton has reworked internals on several and has three in his shop as I type. I know I need at least one really nice one, but where to start ? Does one lead to two ? Three ? So many questions ! π

Right now, I'm trying to get one specimen from 'smiths considered to be the top of their game, and in their "signature" work. The fun thing about custom revolvers is the journey, and planning what comes next. I'm hoping to have a couple trickle back in over the next few months and will be adding to this thread as they arrive.

I have been on my βQuestβ to accomplish the same thing for close to 20 years now Jamey. I am down to waiting on the final gun shuch has been in the works for longer than I care to share but the end is in sight. It had been fun to turn these artists loose with the freedom to express their style and creativity and see what they build.

#2 was a group endeavor on the old Sixgunner.com forum. Lipsey's provided Bisley Vaqueros at cost and David Clements did some basic work. Most others got their grips through a group purchase I put together but I opted for BluMagnum ivory micarta. Action job Ream chamber mouths to .4525" Dovetail front sight regulated for 300gr over 21.5gr H110 Freewheel Belt Mt. #5 basepin Bead blasted rear sight groove Remove warning label A few years later I decided I couldn't live with the setup and sent it back to Clements for: Pre-war S&W style rear sight Custom front sight with patridge blade Bevel cylinder Shorten barrel behind the dovetail, resulting in 4Β½" Round butt grip frame Install Bowen lanyard ring All of the guns on this thread are awesome but I think this is the one that does it for me. Simple, elegant, .45 Colt, shorter barrel, everything I need. Maybe one day I stumble across something similar.

Do you still have this one? Can you link to more images? I really like this one, the '72 is such a nice looking and handling revolver.
