I was hoping some here could start a blue print thread on handguns they have and or have built. I have seen this on another forum with custom rifles. Would like to see builders name and other specifics. Maybe we could iron our the specifics here and then start a new thread with the specifics and try to key discussion off of it and let if be just pictures and specifications to go with the gun.

There are various classes put on at various Gunsmith schools by the NRA, including many Jr. Colleges. Stop and think for a moment. What master Craftsman that you know of, gives his work away for free. Attending a class is just the start. It will take many hours of practice after you learn the p[roper procdures in a class. Contact the NRA for a list of schools and classes in or near your area. Be prepared to spend some money, very little in lfe is free.

I am not tying to become a gunsmith. I would just like a thread where someone posts a pic of a gun they have had work done on. Then under the picture you add the details of the gun. 1. Barrel Length and Brand 2. Gunsmith 3. Caliber 4. Cylinder length 5. Front Site 6. Rear site 7. 8. Just detail. That way someone can go to one thread and see what others have built and how they had it done. That way if someone wants to have something built they can go to one thread and see in one spot what other have done. Sorry for the confusion, Chris And by the way Mr. Jurras I love your posts. Lots of good info.

This is it exactly. Then if this could be put into another thread. And just post the specs/blueprints in the one thread and keep discussion to separate threads. Maybe make it a sticky. I see it as a great resource and enabler to those looking for ideas on new projects.

I want this thread to have a million posts! Great great idea OP! Some beautiful guns float around this site and guys like me never know the specs on them! I know Lee could add a few pages in here! Cant wait to see this one progress!
You may need an admin to jump on board here. Have people post in this thread, then an admin adds it to a second thread. Keep the second thread locked so all the talk happens here!(only the admin can post in the other thread) Otherwise people wont catch on.

Okay, I get it now. Gun: Old Model Super Blackhawk Gunsmith: Jack Huntington/ and local gunsmith Caliber: 44 magnum Barrel: stock, shortened to 4 5/8" Front sight: forum member Aggie01's base w/interchangeable blades Rear sight: Bowen Finish: Blue/ Turnbull CCH (CCH was done in 1998/99 to give an idea of how the finish holds up, to me it just gets prettier with age.) Gripframe: Steel Old Army, Huntington extended/reshaped Grips: California English walnut by Huntington/ wood supplied by me. I had Jack Huntington put a 5 1/2" banded barrel on it and add knurled locking base pin a few months back.
