Oof! That front sight base! Very nice. HA! I agree very much. Once I saw mine, (and loved it) I told Jack he should do a lot of those. He said no, not a lot. Ruger casts them for the No. 1 rifles He told me.

It's got a soft luster that gives it a silvery appearance. I know this is old but as someone new to this side of the hobby I love this finish! Now I just need to try to find a few more examples of the turnbull carbonna blue finish..

Craig, I can't say if we'd ever get along in the real world, but our tastes in sixguns couldn't align more! And you're WAY better at the execution! I should be taking notes! Just amazing!

Since my “little friend”showed up today I’ll give the specs that were used for what JRH calls Bear Spray!! Large frame Vaquero and bisley grip 4” straight octagon barrel Fiber optic front sight, JRH fabbed a small ramp with a ever so slight rise at the muzzle to blend into front sight. Small rear sight modification of my own idea, to provide a crisper view of the Vaquero topstrap, I have issues with the rounded back surface and seeing a good sight picture. JRH grip mod and Black micarta grips with slight gray layer Slight round butt of grip Originally the gun was to have both highly polished and matte surfaces, the moving parts and pins were to be polished and all else beadblasted matte, the entire metal surface Black Nitride. Issues with getting a clean polished look to some of the surfaces required a change to the entire gun getting a matte finish. Button base pin with a head I’m not familiar with, but I like it. Checkered ER button Don’t know what the trigger breaks at but it goes bang right before my brain is telling me it’s enough pressure on the trigger. 500 Linebaugh

Those super short barreled large bore magnums are neat. I have just one of the type. Talk about going to hell and back in a New York minute. Fire a cylinder full of top end loads and you know you have done something. Enjoy.....

I've put off reading/gasping this thread (after the first page) until I had time to quietly enjoy it, so I filled up a good sized pipe with some good tobacco, and am going to enjoy! But, as I go thru the first few pages, darn if I can see many of the pictures - the ones I can't see have a photobucket message about "updating my account". Why can't I see those?
