It's funny that someone would use the word novelty as a description of a FA revolver. It's also funny how quickly revolver aficionados quickly disagree with that description.
Not that it matters, I wonder what the individual (s) who called it a novelty considers a working or tool gun?
I like to consider my guns as women. I have definite preferences of women but I can and do recognize a stunner that doesn't fit my preferences. I sometimes get out of bed too early and reply to threads before enough coffee has been consumed....

I enjoy the shopping and time spent on the next recipe for my new toys. When the money is spent and the donor guns shipped, the wait only stays on my mind for a few weeks. Next thing I know I start looking at my next recipe. Kinda like a hamster on the wheel. It's a sad thing isn't it...
I look forward to seeing your toys when you get them.

I kept looking at the revolver and for whatever reason, my brain would not let my eyes know what they were seeing (hammer, rear sight, and the shape of the gripframe). My eyes saw a BFR and my brain was thinking RBH. As soon as you mentioned BFR it clicked. I'm usually not so slow on the uptake.

What sort of a red dot mount do you have on that revolver?

Had to have surgery on mine. Numb fingers, couldn't sleep in the bed, couldn't drive, etc. Not fun and I feel your pain (as it appears many others do too).

Wow! That was $71.25 for 15 rounds. I must be living in a cave somewhere as I haven't noticed ammo going up that high. Handloading does have it charms I suppose.
I'll admit never having used any Buffalo Bore ammo before so I've no dealings with them. That said, a different brand of brass could easily be an issue. Starline can handle some serious pressure.
None of the commentary helps your problem and this ammo is definitely not usable when you have to knock cases out with a dowel. At least the revolver can take the power so that's not an issue.

Going to be a nice looking hand full. Compared to mine, that one will be 7/8" more meanness!

I just ordered a model 97. It will be in when i get home from my hospital stay. I thought long and had about what caliber to get. I decided on the 44 Special because I am a reloader. I got a 5.5" with action job and black micarta grips. The 45 and 41 would be great also. I approve wholeheartedly since that is the exact gun I got about 3 weeks ago. Mine came from a dealer so the only delay was getting the FFL to him. Mine has a 3 lb trigger job. Not sure that that was necessary but I'm glad I got it. I guess I could say that I had to settle for the FA since there was not one Ruger Flat Top available. According to Lipsey, Ruger is not building anything but auto's. What the heck it's only money. In my opinion (about the Action Job), it's necessary. All of mine have it and it would be the first box checked if I were to order one. I sent my 83 357 Magnum back for it. I wish I was brave enough to take a FA apart to do it myself, but I'm not... I'm covered pretty well in FA's but a 97 in 44 Special sounds good to me. I think I'll stop reading these FA threads!

What more could you want in a revolver? That pretty much covers it. I've said before for other RBH's how much I appreciate a long fat cylinder that fills out the cylinder frame and that about does it!

My 4 5/8" SBH is a favorite especially after I had the Huntington Grip Mod done on it. I will say it is a beast with stout Magnum loads. I had to dehorn a few places as it was trying to dehorn my hands. The shorter one would be just a touch too much fun for me!

I wish he would make a 280 or 290 grain in that style of mold. I have the Ruger Only and it makes my lead pot empty real fast. I also have the Carbine molds in GC and PB and admit it's not a favorite of mine.
I don't use the penta points on any of my MP's. I do love how a BB will stick in the 44-45 HP holes when powder coating. PITA, but it is what it is.
I've started using PC as soon as I started casting handgun bullets and found real quick clear coats very well for me. I tend to add at least 25% of clear in every color I use as it helps the coating. Straight clear is used for 20/1 alloy so I know at a glance what the bullets are.

I won't use it personally in any of my revolvers either. I had a few pounds and gave it away for use in a 300 BO Reminton XP100 a friend has.

Adidas made some high performance boots some years back and they were also made in Germany. Super lightweight, stayed put under any conditions, came in many colors (black, scuffed black, and grey after the black got worn off), and were waterproof to the top of the soles. I wore a few pairs out and remember how comfortable they were, but none had square toe soles...

Nothing wrong with making a statement. Some of the rifles I've seen are eye-catching to say the least, so why not the shoes.
Those are probably for kneeling not prone.
