I have a 1951 k22 I recently picked up with an issue. The firing pin bushing is loose and moves out at times catching on cases as the cylinder rotates into firing position. When pushed in it is flush with the frame but moves in and out randomly. I believe the gun was probably dry fired excessively and widened the groove in the bushing. Should I rotate the bushing 90 degrees and drill a new pin groove or would loctite possibly keep it secure? Thanks.

Update on my BFR 500 JRH, I'm shooting 500 Specials in it and a few times after a shot the hammer wouldn't come all the way back to cock again. I had to work it back and forth a few times to get it cock and shoot. Also the loading gate was difficult to open fully, I filled out a form on the Magnum Research website for warranty repair on Wednesday and Thursday morning they sent an email with a paid FedEx shipping label. They received it Friday, I'll keep you informed what they find and how long it takes.

I'm at the 1 year mark for mine, quality can't be rushed.

I'm currently using a Fastfire on a raptor engineering mount on the 357 Max and so far it's holding tight. www.raptor-eng.com/raptor_rev_d_004.htmI have a weigand mini base holding an ultradot lt on my Bisley 480 with no problems, both these mounts only use the sight screw to hold them, but with the light weight of the base and small reflex sight they stay put. Probably use it on a 357 max, but I've been moving the fastfire around from gun to gun. Read my post above about a suitable mount being the only issue I've found with a Ruger and a red dot. The FF3 or Venom should not have any issue living a long life on a 357 Max and I suspect you'll be able to find the accuracy potential of the revolver with a red dot easily.

I am in the market for another reflex sight. I have an Ultra dot LT and a Fastfire 3 red dot which I like but see the vortex venom is similar in price. Anybody know anything about the vortex venom?

The 30 carbine Blackhawk has my interest and there is one that has been at our local shows priced at $400. Not sure if this is a good price for one or not but since I don't have any dies or components I keep passing it up. Did you see it at the Butler gun show? That's were I got this, was priced at $400, haggled down to $375 out the door. I had brass, dies and bullets so it was a no brainer for me.

And the best thing was, when I left the show with it and returned to my loving wife waiting for me in the truck, she asked how much it was and gave me what i paid for it to have as a gift from her.

Been keeping an eye open for a 30 Carbine Blackhawk at a reasonable price and found one today at a local gun show. Old Model, first year production, 1968, in very good-excellent shape and unconverted. I already have brass, dies and bullets from a 30 Carbine rifle I had traded off a few years ago so I'm all ready to play.

Any chance in making this design a reality? I'm looking for a new mold for my recently acquired Bfr 500 JRH and would love a hp version, but if not enough interest I will order a WFN design.

Well I bit the bullet. I just ordered a 7.5” jrh should be in Friday. I’ve been reading, shopping and studying for some time now. I’m new to this forum but I think I have read most of the forums I could find on the JRH. Thanks to all you folks for your knowledge. I had full intentions of getting the 5.5. But everywhere I looked they were gone. And it doesn’t sound like BFR will be building any for a few months. The plan is to cut it down to 5 inch anyway. So the 7.5 will be fun to try out for a while and compare. Quick question. Is the end of the extractor housing 4 5/8” or 5”. Or something else Two 5 1/2" 500 jrh bfrs just listed on gunbroker plus a 7 1/2", same place I got mine.

Looks great, as the designer, what do you think about this mold, accuracy at long range, problems with 3 crimp grooves?
