My bullet is weighing 394 gr lubed with gc, straight ww, figure changing to 30% lead will up that weight, my mold must be a little different than yours.

Thanks for the info, I had cast straight ww but was shooting around 1300 fps in the 475 using h110, overkill for these pa whitetails plus unneeded recoil, will cast some 70/30 ww-pb as had read from your prior postings and get the speed down.

I have the mp 477640 385 gr HP mold that sixshot and others have been using in the 475L and 480s. I have only used it in my bfr with 475L brass and would like to use it in the new bisley 480 when I get one. What load of HS-6 powder do you recommend to achieve 1000-1100 fps using 480 brass ? Thanks.

"Real" gun guys would be has happy you showed their error so that they could be accurate in their reporting to their followers, apparently they are not "real" gun guys.

Had my dealer order a 480 today, quoted $757 out the door, they told him a month or more wait, hope sooner.

Wasn't trying to be "anyone" or looking to have such a response, just wanted to bring up conversation about this new gun and knew this great site was the place to start it.

343 posts, wow!!!!! When I started this thread earlier in the week I didn't expect such a response. Being a long time reader , but only recently registered member of this site, I knew this was the place to start this discussion. I have gained much knowledge reading the posts of others and give thanks to all. Now just patiently waiting for another fine Lipsey's revolver to buy.

Pic of my Bfr 475/480 and the doe I shot last December, sorry about the quality. Wishing for a Ruger SS Blackhawk Bisley 480 with a 5.5 bbl.

My dad bought an Abilene in the late 70's which he gave me many years ago. It was made in Riverside NY, the transfer bar broke a few times. He even sent it back to Mossberg who was putting them together for awhile for repair. Still broke after they "machined/fixed" it. I don't shoot it much now, I have a spare transfer bar that I bought many years ago from numerick arms but don't think they are available now. Very well made gun other than transfer bar issue, shoots great with a great trigger. Enjoy it.

Lipseys posted a teaser photo on their Facebook page of a new exclusive coming soon. Remarks from Facebook viewers guess a Ruger bisley with recessed chambers. Anyone really know? I' m hoping for a SS Bisley 480 Ruger with 5.5" bbl and the correct twist for 400 gr bullets.
