I have reloaded for 60 years and started with a ideal hand press . Have a old rcbs jr. Single stage press and shoot a lot more than 3 boxes of ammo per month.

The last time we had a powder shortage , I was looking for unique. The guy behind the counter said I needed to switch to something else as they didn't know when they could get any more unique. So I bought a few cans of universal and been happy with it and CFE Pistol .I load for 38 spl. 357,44 spl. ,And 44 magnum .

In washington state they make it a real issue of hunting with a gun that is not legal barrel length. I have been down that road just packing a sidearm while hunting with a rifle. Cut the barrel if that's what you want to do it is your gun after all.

There is a place for the flattop 44 special. The superblackhawk 44 magnum are cheap why would anyone want to screw up a nice flattop 44 special. I have both.

Mine is not what I would call a kit gun. But bumming around in north Idaho I always carry my 44 magnum vaquero,3 3/4" birdshead.

Several years ago my wife and I were setting in the camper watching a rain downpour, when a coyote and a buzzerd came by camp hunting together. Buzzerd was about 15 feet above and about that far behind the coyote.

Probably their idea so you only load 5 and have the hammer on the plug for carrying. Instead of a empty hole.

I have read Mr. Keith was impervious to recoil also? I also have come to like big heavy bullets. IT ONLY LASTS FOR A WHILE: IF YOU SHOOT A LOT OF BIG STUFF THEN "AS YOU ARE NOW, I ONCE WAS; AS I AM NOW YOU SOON SHALL BE."[/quote][br. No truer word have been spoken. At 80 yrs. I once was. Wonder how many tons of lead I have cast and shot. In the last 65 years.

Takes about 16 days or more to buy any gun in this state now. And that's not because of any mass buying.

I bought a whole bunch of csb-1 and etr7 during the component shortage a few years ago. They are supposed to be the same powder with a burn rate between titegroup and universal. 7.3 grains gives me a little over 1000fps with a 240gr missouri bullet out of my 4 5/8 flat top. Extraction is easy. ***** I am aware of the affection some have for talking in letters instead of words.... What powder is “csb-1” and “etr7”? Perhaps we should mention a powder only by its Lot Number? After all, it’s technically more precise. David Bradshaw David I did a Google search and came up with Maxamcorp.com they have all the listings for csb-1 etc.

Bean counters control. Probably they don't see there would be enough sales.
