seemed to be really popular when the were released, not sure why they wouldn't do the 45 on the "New" New Vaquero? or other versions? have only seen the birdshead 44mag. Ol Ruger does some strange things, when they first went to the New Model, they just used the large frame, now that they produce the smaller frame, they haven't put the cartridges where they go, midframe could be 357 to 10mm, 41 mag and 44 special, large frame 45's and 44 mag. they offer a lot for the single action shooters, but wont do the 38-40 (only the buckeyes) 44-40 (limited OM vaqueros) 05153 is new vaquero birdshead 45 colt 3.5 " barrel in blue. Not the large frame.

FYI I have a birdshead vaquero in 44 magnum w/ 3 3/4" barrel. It is not at all hard to handle with stout loads. It has become my favourite packing revolver.

Your really going to like that when your finished. I have a 44 magnum vaquero 3 3/4" birdhead , that I have been packing for a while. I keep thinking it needs adjustable sights . But it shoots so good that it's staying the way it is.

Geez, that's a lot of Copperheads! I'd use snake loads too & I do but not just for snakes. I load them in my 44's & 45's using #12 shot that I have a lot of, maybe 75 lbs. Don't have the exact figures with me but I load about 4 grs powder, then a card wad cut out of a empty primer box with a sharpened case of the same caliber pushed down over the powder. Then enough shot to almost fill the case, then a plastic wad cut from an plastic lid using that same sharpened case placed on top & crimped & then a light seal coat to hold the wad in place. I've showed them before & also a paper plate at 15 feet with LOTS of holes in it, works great. Shorts barreled guns work best! You can make them with GC's also. Every year I teach a ladies only handgun class & I usually sneak in a few water filled balloons about the size of an orange. It sure impresses those ladies when I can shoot balloons out of the air with a six gun. Later I have to confess & let a couple of them try it!!! It's easy with these "snake" loads!!! Dick I make mine about the same as six shot does, only use 7.5 shot in the 44 magnum cases. Good grouse getters.

Nick's and whites are pretty close to me. Spokane Washington area. I drive right by Nick's couple of times a week. The best pair of boots I have had on my feet in my 79+ years are Boulet's out of Canada. They are far above any others I have worn . I have worn riding boots all my life.

Some where 50 years or so ago I heard of putting a piece of bird shot under the screw on the RCBS locking rings. I have done this on all my reloading dies ever since. It works for me.

Pace Cars: Another excellent option is the new model Ruger Blackhawk already chambered for the .44 Special round with a steel trigger guard/grip frame. The fit and finish is excellent and the additional weight of the steel grip frame really helps attenuate the recoil for the heavier handloads. There was a special run of 2,000 single actions with 4-5/8 and 5-1/2 inch barrel lengths for Lipsey's that you still can find for sale. J.D. Press First run? Where? I have one of the 4 5/8" models. It will be the last gun that I get rid of.

Auto parts stores sell gasket remover. That's what we used when I worked in the Ag. Chemical business.

If we were to read all labels on everything we buy and only buy U. S. A. Made , we wouldn't buy much. Hell our Levi's arn't even made here. Just saying. Everyone stay safe out there and have a good day.

Isn't Harbor Freight one of the key pioneers of cheap Chinese imports? That may be but at least they are stepping up to help.
