I got so excited when I found an RCBS Pro Melt 2 at Brownells that I bought it. Unfortunately, it's a 240VAC instead of 120VAC and the 120 shows as discontinued. They couldn't cancel my order so I have to send it back when it gets here unless there is way to convert it to 120. Is there a way I can make this work for a regular power plug?

Call RCBS & see if a conversion is possible or if not, could you send it back to them for exchange.

Or if you know an electrician... I think you can wire it special off of both sides of your electrical circuit, at home or shop, and use 2 cords on the pot This would only be if you can’t get another 110, and no exchange is possible... I know that sounds goofy... but I know just enough about electricity to cause trouble

Or just run a 220 outlet... piece of cake

Buy a step-down transformer and run it as-is.

Buy an extension cord from an electrical supply house, run it from your dryer outlet. Unless you can get your casting set-up close enough to the dryer to not need an extension cord.

Thank you for all of the advice. It sounds like I may be able to keep it and make it work.

Or just run a 220 outlet... piece of cake It really is that simple, if you have a dedicated 120v out let , you can simply change the outlet, and breaker to 220.

It would be cheaper to operate as 220 than 120.

220 is just 2 - 110 breakers and lines

I would check the wiring before trying to just chang an outlet. Most house hold outlet wiring is 12ga 2 conductor. 220v requires 10-3 wiring at least. See what the amperage draw is on the machine and how far away from the breaker panel you will want the outlet and let me know. I'll tell you exactly what wire you need to run. Also if you do want to do the drop cord from the dryer outlet, the length of the cord can make a difference. Let me know if that's how you want to go. I'll need the length of cord you'll need to calculate what gauge wire you'll need to make it out of.

Or you could purchase a step up transformer. I think you want at least a 1200 watt unit (as I recall, the Pro-melt is an 800 watt unit ... 800 * 1.5 = 1200 watts). I think you can get a 1500-2000 watt step up/down transformer online for $75-100. Not cheap but a solution that will work and not put your electrician skills to a test.

He would still have to wire in the transformer.

He would still have to wire in the transformer. Stand alone units are available ... just plug them in a wall outlet.

Haven't seen a stand alone before. As an industrial millwright I tend to think like I work.
