You can find slightly used ones on eBay and gunbroker all the time from JD ownership timeframe. What chambering are you looking for. Looking primarily for smaller calibers, 22 Hornet, 221 Fireball, 32 H&R, 300 Whisper/Blackout, etc.

I'm getting back into Contenders after a few years pursuing other interests, and I'm looking at ordering a barrel from SSK Firearms. I remember SSK Industries when it was run by J.D. Jones, and those old SSK barrels wth their full vent-ribs and Mag-Na Porting fairly leapt off the pages of Taffin's books and magazine articles. Are the current SSK barrels up to the same standard?

Thanks, that's great info on the cylinder length. What red dot mount are you using for the SRO?

How is the new Anaconda working out for those of you who have one? I have a 3" new production Python that I really enjoy and am considering a 6" Anaconda to go with it. I have several S&W Model 29's and have had Redhawks, Super Redhawks and Dan Wesson 44's in the past but have never owned an Anaconda. My primary use would be target shooting and perhaps IHMSA competition just to keep things interesting.

The 3" K-frames are just about right, here's my 65 and 66 hanging out. A comparison picture between 2.5" and 3" 66's:

This is a great sight that 2Dogs made for me last year that I'm just not going to get to. Between recovering from a heart attack and family obligations my shooting time is down considerably and my tinkering time is almost non-existent. This sight is made to fit a Ruger Single Six. It is blued, has a serrated blade and the Kings-pattern mirror in the ramp. The finish is perfect; what appear to be smudges in the pictures are reflections from the oil that 2Dogs packed the sight in when he sent it to me. The sight is made to be fit to the gun's barrel with Loctite. I will include a small container of Loctite 380 that I bought to install this sight on my 32 H&R Single Six; 380 is very strong, stronger than red Loctite (Loctite 272), and should work well with correct surface preparation. I'm asking $65 shipped for the sight and the Loctite; payment by check, money order or PayPal (F&F or +3%). This should make for a fun project and I'm looking forward to seeing this sight one someone's sixgun soon.

This is a great ballhead that I'm just not using now that I've sold my heavy DSLRs. Really Right Stuff BH-55 ball head with clamp-release platform and RRS padded case. Here's a link to RRS's specs on this ballhead: www.reallyrightstuff.com/bh55-ball-headThe BH-55 is an American-made, extremely strong, tripod ball-head that will do just about anything you need in a tripod head. It's an industry standard for use with heavier cameras and lenses. The head has a few dings and nicks as can be seen, but none affect function and the ballhead works beautifully. These retail for $489, and I'm asking $350 for this one, shipped via USPS priority; payment by PayPal (F&F or +3%), check or money order. Thanks.

First day on the range in about two months, decided to shoot some "half" Tests: 5 rounds, 10 yards, 5 seconds. HK45 LEM, first time out with an LEM trigger and I love it. I need to send my USP Elite 45 to H&K for a LEM trigger now. This was my seventh run of the morning, 3.83 seconds from low ready, 230gr FMJ Federal: H&K USP Expert 9mm, this is a DA/SA gun and you can see where I dropped the DA shot on my third (and best) run; 4.13 seconds from low ready, 115gr Blazer brass. I should have dry-fired a bit after switching to this gun when I was done with the HK45 LEM. I need to get to the range more!

I’m 37. Bought my first sixgun at age 21 after reading Taffin, Keith and Bowen.

Looks great Robb! My wife and I are planning on fixing up the loft in our barn along similar lines to give our girls a place to play outside the house.
