How is the new Anaconda working out for those of you who have one? I have a 3" new production Python that I really enjoy and am considering a 6" Anaconda to go with it. I have several S&W Model 29's and have had Redhawks, Super Redhawks and Dan Wesson 44's in the past but have never owned an Anaconda. My primary use would be target shooting and perhaps IHMSA competition just to keep things interesting.

I've had great success with these. The trigger in D/A is the best I've experienced, S/A is decent but can be tuned. The accuracy is what I'm really pleased with, this was shot with an 8" model. The cylinders are long for 44 mag (1.909 inches) but that doesn't seem to negatively impact accuracy, at least to a degree I can measure. It even shoots the 265gr FTX bullets well, 444 marlin type, that are too long for any other 44 mag. The 8 inch shot so well I found a deal on a 6 inch and picked it up and mounted a Trijicon SRO on it. I haven't shot a 44 as well as this, excellent balance, size and weight. For me the Anacondas replaced my Dan Wesson as the DW is getting tricky to find parts for and the Colts have a flat out better D/A trigger. Attachments:

Thanks, that's great info on the cylinder length. What red dot mount are you using for the SRO?

I have the new 6" Anaconda. Love it! DA trigger is so smooth I don't feel I need to use SA for anything, yet. Fit and finish is perfect.
No trouble with factory sights.
This beast makes 240 grain factory loads feel more like .38s. 300 grain +P loads ain't bad either.
I'm glad I added it to my working collection.

Thanks, that's great info on the cylinder length. What red dot mount are you using for the SRO? This is the mount from EGW, fits up great and is rock solid.
