I already have my dream 6 shooter, a second gen. Colt SAA with custom work done by A. Harton. It is a 5½" barreled .45 Colt with one piece burled walnut grips, custom tuned action with an extra .45 ACP cylinder made from a .357 takeoff. It is so smooth it feels like it is running on roller bearings lubed up with slick 50 and ice. He even sighted it in for my favorite load and the .45 ACP.....BUT this kind of work costs some bucks and is not free....LOL Picture, Hombre, pictures.... Thanks, Tim

A Ruger Super Redhawk with a 6 inch barrel and 5-shot .500 Linebaugh cylinder. Hammer, trigger, ejector rod would be highly polished.
Whitmore I know you got something like this!

Have worn the bluing off lots of corners on my dream gun. Had JRH build me one like the Boge 4" round butted bisley vaquero, added the little blade rear sight, and lots of other goodies. Still a 6 shot 45 Colt, but is the best money I ever spent. Carry it every day on the ranch now that I have been forced into temporary retirement from the down-turn in the oil industry. It is getting an honest dose of antiquing, grips are scratched, few dings all over. Shoots to the sights with John Linebaugh's H110 load with the Miha Hp.
Livin the dream. For those on the fence about spending bucks with one of the big smiths, I suggest to find a way to do it. You will never miss the money, and it is hard to describe the feeling of grabbing that gun every time you leave the house. I have 2 FA's, one 83 and one 97, but the "Beast" as the sons call it, gets the most time in the field.

I think mine would be one of the following:
A) 357 built on an OM Single Six, 5-6" tapered octagon barrel, CCH frame, engraving of some sort, maybe a brass grip frame
B) 45 built on an OM Blackhawk with 5.5-6" octagon barrel, CCH frame, engraving of some sort, maybe a brass grip frame

Five Shot 45 Colt Bisley 4 3/4" Octagon with Big horn grips. That's my pick.
But I also like my Harton 5 shot 45 Colt Barrel banded brute. There are so many, it is a hard pick. You all have some very nice blasters.

You folks are a terrible influence ! Yesterday, it just popped into my head, a 3rd model Dragoon, in 44spec.. Why ? I have no idea. If work holds together and we get thru contract talks this summer ok, maybe, just maybe I can dream too.

Here is one I speced out for the great Alan Harton. Oversized 5 shot Bisley with recessed 45 Colt chambers. 5.5" Barrel banded. Walnut grips fit to the gun. In blue of course. Hard for me not to pick this one.

I'll keep it simple. I would like a Ruger Super Blackhawk, .454 Casull, 5 shot cylinder with the ("plow handle") standard factory grip frame and a 4 5/8" barrel. Would be carried in Diamond D Guides Choice chest holster.

I know I would trade you a plow gripframe for your Bisley gripframe, easy peasy... BigBore44

My dream gun would be a Colt New Frontier with a 5-1/2" barrel and chambered in either .44 Special or .45 Colt with an extra cylinder in .45acp…

I'm pretty easy, I just want a 3-4 inch smith in 44 special with a perfect trigger. Add some nice walnut, and I would be a very happy guy.

How about a Colt Richards Type I 1860 conversion in 44 or maybe even 41 special.. That's where my mind is wandering to this morning. 5 1/2", slightly modified sights for clear sight picture without altering the basic aesthetics of the gun. (think 2nd gen SAA sights as an example. Better sight pic than 1st gen, but still looks right) CCH, Charcoal blue with fire blue screws and silver plated back strap.

I wonder if a .41Spl wouldn't also work?
