Just got a call from my dealer that my Ruger Single Seven 327 Federal 5 1/2" had shipped from Lipsey's. No word yet on the 7 1/2", as I have both on order. I can only assume that these will be shipped in batches.
I really look forward to these guns, as do a lot of guys on this forum.

I heard the same, was told there is a third barrel length, a 4 5/8"er and it will be the next group released.

Thinking maybe a V-Notch Rear and Fiber Optic Front sight change on the 5 1/2", maybe some Badger Grips. Hard to figure a better small game rig. Look forward to seeing what the gun will do and hearing range reports from others.

I heard that my 5 1/2" model is being shipped on. It sounded like the 4 5/8" and the 7 1/2" models will be shipped later, only the 5 1/2" model is being shipped for now. I can't wait for my LGS Dealer to call to tell me that it has arrived!

Came in this morning, $565.00. So don't think that's too bad. Look forward to giving it a good workout and range report.

My dealer called last Friday to tell me that my 5.5" model was in, so I headed down on Saturday to pick it up..... In checking it over I found that the barrel / cylinder gap was 0.005 at the bottom and 0.015 at the top... One of the grip screws was ROYALLY buggered up (Not just buggered, but royally buggered..), The left side of the top strap had a bunch of crescent shaped dings in it from where Bubba had used a sharp edged punch to drive in the rear sight pin... The grips were undersized leaving gaps of up to 1/10" and the grip frame had lots of really sharp edges.... It's on it's way back to Lipseys and hopefully they'll replace it with one that shows at least a little quality....

No marks, typical factory .005" barrel gap (usually a Belt Mtn base pin helps that) and the works. I hope all goes well shooting and a range report will follow here. Would love to see some pictures of the problems you have. Hope you took some before shipping it back to Lipsey's.

Sorry, no photos. After finding all the flaws, my dealer just wrapped it back up and said that it was going back to Lipseys. She said that as long as we didn't do paperwork on it, she could send it back. She was so disgusted with it that she just wanted it out of her sight....

Took delivery of my 5 1/2" today. I have to say I am very impressed with the fit and finish of this one. Sorry for the problems that JD and others may have experienced, but seem to have lucked out.
Very good tolerances on the barrel gap and headspace. Truly an impressive little revolver.
Pictures and range report soon.
My local dealer had informed me it had .005" barrel gap. Upon picking up the gun, I ask him how he measured it. He told me he held it up to a light and estimated it.
Measuring it with feeler gauges it has. 0025" barrel gap and. 0015" headspace with Starline brass, .0025" with Federal brass. I am beside myself. Too dark to shoot, but not waiting long.

"He estimated it"... that's brilliant! I'm sure that is more often the case with such maladies

I need a new set of MK I eyeballs to be estimating BC gaps lol. Sounds like he does as well. Hopefully my local guy comes through he offered a pretty good price.
