Got the word today that my 7 1/2" Single Seven is headed to my LGS. Also, two extra 5 1/2" and one 4 5/8". If anyone is interested, will gladly put them in contact.

Sure are a bunch of these for sale on Gunbrokers. When I last looked I counted 30. Guessing the love affair is now over, lol.

I believe those on gunbroker are just guys trying to turn a buck on high demand. There was 27 Freedom Arms 83s I veiwed on a recent search. Yet, FA has a 13 month backlog.
So, a few being listed on GB may not signal lost love.

Checked completed auctions and seems most are selling between $530 and $560. Noticed a couple with opening bids of $529 and no reserve that either didn't sell or took a couple of attempts before someone bought it. I am glad prices are staying low as there could always be room for another.

Anybody done some group shooting and/or chrono readings with their 71/2 inch? Just curious. Would also be interesting if someone had all 3 barrel lengths to compare. Would be a interesting range report.

Good article. I was very surprised that the 7.5" produced the lowest velocity with almost all of the different types of ammo. I wonder if this is typical of these single sevens or if it was an anomaly? Not that it matters but now I'm curious.

It was interesting. But have seen results that were very different when handloaded with slower powders such as H110.
I see the chance to learn a lot with these little guns.

Agreed, powders ranging from Unique to 296 can be tried to determine what gives the best combination of velocity and accuracy.

Yeah, decent article. But would like to see the same thing with many different handloads. Maybe with the kind of work-up that Brian Pearce does...

Got my 7.5 today. For a gun that is made on an assembly line, I am happy, happy, happy! Cylinder gap won't let .005 in, smallest I have handy. Grip fit looks good to me. Overall finish is as good as any other Ruger I own. With a tight patch I noticed zero thread choke. Bore seemed smooth. Only some shooting will tell Trigger, well it is a bit gritty but that is an easy fix. Hey it's a new gun and needs to be broken in. Now to procure some starline brass. Jeff

I bought the 5.5" and 7.5" first. Like you, I was very happy with them. I was going to pass on the 4 5/8" that my LGS called me about.
But, when I went down and looked at it things changed. It was fit and finished to absolute perfection. The BC gap measured. 0015" and there was no way to make a. 002" feeler gauge fit thru. So now I have one of each barrel length.
