The question from a honest business stand point is what is there of any value? That was the thing when Smith bought them, I didn't see what they planned to do with TC in the first place and over time it has been pretty clear they didn't know either. But what is there of value moving forwards that justifies a large cash outlay to get it?
This is from a business point of view not a gun guy point of view because it is a shame what has become of TC...

I remember a member here, many many years ago was selling the latches! No I did not buy and yes I regret it! Ps. If the seller reads this and still has a couple I’m ready to buy! I think that was just the hourglass shape piece that is the base pin retainer, the easy part. The custom base pin, welding of the frame, machining of the frame, retaining pin, and so on is the hard part to do. I think Harton charged me $550 as an option on my #5 and I choked hard and said do it. Never regretted that decision though...

I’ve often thought a midframed old model Ruger in 38/40 would be a worthwhile project for sure. Not practical but should be dang fun.

Can't say I like the look of the front sight base either. The front sight base is John typical front sight base. I'm guessing it has been screwed into the top of the barrel because that's his typical MO. Now the rear sight? Year needs a Bowen pretty badly, who knows if when John was building it we might have been in one of the many lulls in Bowen's inventory of these. At least its a easy fix. I much prefer blued guns but this one is pretty stunning...

I think the key is a lube that is soft and tacky enough to stick on the bullet through the barrel and to the target. The commercial guys typically like a super hard lube, I notice they don't seem to stick to the bullets all that well and very often will fall of in chunks. This can not help balance and stabilize a bullet much less lube the bore and barrel evenly.
It seems to me that the best lubes are a bit gooey and messy, but they allow a uniform lubing of the bore, produce a even star on the end of the barrel, and still are in the lube grooves of the bullet when I dig them out of the sand berm. The only lube I have used for years is LBT Blue soft, its a little messy, nothing like Alox but it really works well for me.

This is a screaming deal, I have a set of Hornady dies so my getting them would be piggish although I am sorely tempted, I like RCBS dies a lot.
Someone jump on these please...

I do wish CCI/Speer folks would market shot capsules for the 480/475 and the 32's. Yes I can and do load my own but the capsules just work. Get shot capacity out in front of the case mouth. Etc.. My guess is they have their hands full trying to get caught up with what they have now that they produce in mass, 32 and 480 shot capsules wouldn't exactly be a high volume sales item for a long while...

There are 6 on Gunbroker right now ranging from $1200 to $2500. Cant say I care for the grip style, but thats an easy fix. The grips feel great in my hand, when shooting they hit the joint at the bottom of my thumb so we will see if they stay. If I can find a set of the Hogue fingerless rubber grips I may give them a try and see if that cures the issue. I'm not a big proponent of rubber grips but if they fix issue...

Anyone seen lumber prices lately? Check out OSB & Plywood pricing! My remodeling contractor tells me lumber prices have gone up 200% since January 1. From the bills I am getting, I believe him. I work in the sheetmetal world and can tell you for fact that regular carbon steel sheet has more than doubled in cost in the last 8 months or so. We have seen some large parts just 40% in customer cost without making a dime more in the shops pocket. Customers all think we are being greedy when we really are holding the same profit margin we always have. Fun times...

One of the things I've had the most difficulty in finding is 30-30 Bullets. 30-30 ammo has been impossible, bullets for reloading not much better. Was finally able to add a few boxes of Hornady 150 grn RN and one box of 160 grn FTX. UPDATE: After posting this, I saw Midsouth had Hornady 160 grn FTX Bullets in stock. Ordered enough to do me for a long time... This why I transitioned to cast bullets for the 30/30 for general fun shooting years ago. I have enough jacketed bullets around if I wanted to get serious but then I would reach for the 45/70 then anyways...

$175.00 mold, $54.00 handles, available now without the wait of back ordered and handles and LBT lead time (varies greatly) its not a bad deal for what should be a dandy of a mold...

It’s a WWG conversion on a Pistol Grip SS Marlin 1895. One of their Kevlar stocks with a deceleration pad, and all the WWG goodies from their package guns. I will load a plethora of 50AK loads to try, plus shoot ( single load) some 500L and 500 Max from time to time. I know a 450 at 1650 will kill anything that walks, especially with a solid. No use shooting 2000FPS loads on a daily basis Yup totally agree, I run a 350gr LFN in my Marlin 45/70 at 1650fps and seldom think I need more. Doesnt mean I would want to try one though, I have a 465gr LFNGC mold that would be the cats meow for a 50AK I think, Its a dandy in a 500BE double gun...
