Looks like an awesome day on the water. The memories of the time you spent with these young boys will last forever and pay more dividends than any amount of money in the bank.
Congrats on the upcoming birthday and hope you see many more.

This is like a train wreck. I know it will end badly but I can't look away.

Hunting rifles have come a long way, but I'll take a classic like this every time.

This is just great. It's 11:01 pm and now I have to try and fall asleep. This is a fantastic write-up of your hunt but please don't leave us hanging for another night. I've been sheep hunting in Alaska once and your pictures/discriptive writing take me back to that time. Thanks for sharing

I think to be fair to FA they could certainly never have predicted the ammo/component issues we are in today. Under “normal” circumstances someone like Starline probably would have picked up production of the brass by now. But we are certainly not in normal times and who knows when that might be again. I sort of figured by now there would be some screaming deals out there on used 500WE guns but that doesnt seem to be true either… I've got my fingers crossed it won't be too much longer.

Thanks for the information on the No. 1 David. Your wealth of knowledge is priceless and I thank you for sharing it with all of us. There is a cost associated with your writings and that is the lightening of my wallet. I was thinking about adding a 22 double action revolver to my gun safe and after reading your comments on the S&W 17 I purchased one. It is a 17-2 and much more accurate than I am. It's also an inexpensive training tool, low recoil makes it easy to see the result poor trigger pull and follow through. Thanks again for sharing.

Started reading Elmer's articles at the age of 15 and I'll be 62 this September. Also a Past Master of my Lodge so the Colt would be priceless.

That's the buttstock I used on mine. I removed the factory rubber pad and adapted a 1" decelerator pad. It tamed the beast for sure.
