CDNN sells a lot of those in the white through GB. There are a lot of possibilities, because we all know a guy....

I’m a little surprised that a $200 single action evokes such strong opinion, both positive and negative, among the real shooters here. Interesting...

I was in my LGS this morning to pic up a couple of guns I had bought ( story later on those, 44 and 475) and he said he would sell them for $189. He unenthusiastically sells heritage now. He has the wranglers on order.

We aren’t really their target market for this gun. But conversely, the people that buy this weren’t the the target market for the 454 and 480 five shot Bisley Blackhawks. For “us” I see these as tackle box and glove box guns. I see these as give aways to get people shooting. I buy knives in this price range to give to my assistants and leads for a job well done, why not this? Have you looked at a common rack of rifles lately in a LGS? $300 bolt rifles everywhere. This is Ruger’s single action version of their American line of rifles. American made and Ruger backed, I see a place for it.

Shoot that hammer some. I liked mine's functionality more than I thought I would, but it's still ugly.

I like the scope mounted forward where the ocular lens is about even with the rear sight blade location. I agree with you on the heavy front but I don't shoot much offhand without a rest of some kind. I also feel it protects the scope more because you don't have the overhang.

A 357 Max in SS Hunter would look something like this one of mine from Alan H. It's a 414SM.

I have had the privilege of a few hours with Alan over the years and I have five of his guns with varying degrees of work from barely to full custom. There are many nice guys in the business but none nicer.

I travel with a pelican type case and after the contents are examined, I padlock it, I duct tape the latches down, and put it inside a a tough old duffel bag with a luggage tag. Has worked every time and it is not conspicuous.

I have worked on a project in Livingston. There is not much to dislike there, a beautiful place in the world.

I have owned a couple of clones with his action work and it was excellent. He seems to know his way around the SAA.

Tim is a pretty hard line blue gun guy but I have seen his weakness for the "right" stainless gun. Tim there is always Krylon High heat Black paint....

I would/will be in for 2 of them as I am a stainless freak.(one would get converted to 414 SuperMag) That's exactly what I would do.

Your gun was massaged by a master. Alan does great work and he truly loves the old SAA. Consider yourself a lucky man.
